This guy is pretty much a calling station, but only when he hits the board or has a strong draw. He called my AK bluff with middle pair.

Now, these are the situations where I struggle. I know there is a chance he has a 10, but do I want to check in hopes of seeing a cheap showdown? Or do I bet here and if I get raised, do I lay it down?

Good check pre-flop, you're out of position and a loose player has position on you.

On the turn, I think I check here. This isn't a hand that I want to put a lot of money in with (although I've been guilty of this before). What I do next depends on if he checks or bets (and how much).

I agree with Johnny that this is a tough spot I may be prepared to check and fold in, but I disagree with him about checking before the flop. Despite being out of position, you equity rates to be high above either of the other players. I'd punch it up to about 600 before the flop and see what happens. If you had bet 600 pre-flop and then made a big bet or all-in bet on the flop, you might have won this pot easily.

Betting the turn won't tell you much, because you can't afford to bet much... if you bet the minimum, it's a huge sign of weakness, and it gives him odds to call with a bunch of hands. Maybe repeat the 300 bet here and fold if he raises. Or, check and hope he doesn't bet or bluff you out.

Raising it pre-flop looks good when you hit the flop, but don't you find it hard to play when you miss out of position against a loose player? Villain has Dat covered and has shown willingness to call him down with weak hands. If Villain was a tight player I'd be raise most of the time.

You're probably right Diamond, but in this situation I rather see a cheap flop and out play Villain with a good flop.

Actually, this pretty much is the reason I cannot raise preflop in this situation. If I raise and Villain calls (and with the chip lead, he likes to splash around), then I pretty much have to hit the flop to bet. I have made continuation bets most of the tourney, and he seems to call when he hits anything.

Here is the action on the turn:
*** TURN *** Nine of ClubsQueen of DiamondsJack of Hearts King of Spades
Diesel_IA: checks
aarrowsmith: bets 600
Diesel_IA: ??????

This could be a bet because I showed weakness, or he could have the straight. I consider my options like this: 1) I call and see if he tries again on the river or 2) Fold.

Unfortunately, this is a larger bet than I wanted to see since I am not even getting 2:1.

Against this guy, I think I fold and find a better spot.
