That little French announcer of theirs was hot. Jeepers!

I couldn't believe those 7s. "Crete Forever!!!! The Island of Crete!!!!"

Next week it's Phil Hellmuth, Phil Gordon, Scotty Nguyen, and Jennifer Harman in Aruba. That should be something.

Ah, it's a repeat next week, that's why. Well, I'm going to enjoy it anyway since I didn't see all of season 1. (don't spoil it for me!)

As for the metal "chips," that was nothing compared to the bubble-gum colored money. I wonder if euros have fruity scents soaked into them... "This one is lime, this one is banana, and ooh strawberry, my favorite!"

O cool a re run.I didnt see all of this one.I think i'm gunna tape it.I think the reason for the re-run is that they havent had yet that they can tape for the wpt.

isnt the aruba ultimate bet pro-game... only played by pro's that endorse ultimate bet?

so would'nt the same group be in the final table every year?

and the cool amateurs get to play against each other?

or am i missing something?

Does anyone other than me hate Mike Sexton and Van Patten???

These guys are so annoying and definatley not funny.

I was watching the US world poker champ the other day and those guys are so much better, especially Norm Chad (compared to Van Patten).

I think Norm really hated Helmuth cause he's always railing on him....I love it!

agree/disagree??

I have mixed feelings about them.

Vince has a way of saying things that are, well, stereotypical and somewhat inappropriate. I don't think he realizes it and I don't think it's intentional but sometimes stuff just comes out. What makes it funny is that Mike then has to transition it to the next conversation and there just isn't any way to do it. Vince will say something totally inappropriate and then Mike can't think of how to respond so they just sit there for a few seconds or sometimes Mike gives this little chuckle like he's thinking "what the hell are you doing Vince? You shouldn't say stuff like that"

Personally I'd have that french hostess girl come on as a permanent hostess/announcer for all the games. For the actual tv hosts/announcers I'm not sure. Mike and Vince aren't bad but at the same time if they were being replaced I probably wouldn't miss them. I don't have any suggestions though. I wouldn't mind a girl with a cute accent like the hostess though Smile

There is nothing wrong with Mike. He was a buddy of Stu Unger's and he's a pretty good player from what I've read on him. And we can't forget, with the WPT he's helped start the poker craze that has swept the world for better or worse. But Vince on the other hand. "The Hollywood Home Game Sensation"? What the hell does that mean? It's already been stated that some of what he says is...well...not bright but come on, they should get Phil Gordon or someone else that plays the circuit. I'm sure Phil would love to commentate on some real poker instead of that joke they called "Celebrity Poker".

Yeah, I can't say I like them all that much. Sexton's better than Vince, but sometimes he seems a bit slow. Maybe it's my imagination. I definitely get tired of phrases like "look at this" and "I don't believe it" and "can you believe this?"

Vince does come up with the strangest comments, usually not poker related. I guess he's trying to be amusing, I don't know. I have no idea what "Hollywood Home Game Sensation" means. Vince reminds me of the car salesman/porn star who won on Survivor a few seasons ago.

That said, they're just announcers and it doesn't affect my enjoyment of the show much. Meanwhile, I love Shana Hiatt. Not only because she's goddamn beautiful, though that is a plus, but she's also a good, professional TV host.

I'd love it if they replaced Vince with the French announcer. Gotta remember to try and catch her name tomorrow.

Ah hell, I missed it and didn't get her name. Oh well, probably something French and hard to pronounce anyway.

Yeah, what the heck are they thinking! Show the new episodes you twits!

I can't remember which is which, but I'm not crazy about the younger guy (Van Patten?). The older guy is fine by me, his voice 'sounds' like a poker player to me. Neither is as good as Norm Chad IMO, I like him. And even though I liked Gabe Kaplan, I like Norm better as a poker announcer.

Shana is awesome, don't change a thing there!

We used to get Jesse May, Barny Boatman, Devilfish & Nick Szeremeta on Late Night Poker in the UK and they were all gr8. Van Patten does annoy me but he's ok, Sexton is good in my opinion but it's all a little too 'American' for me Razz

PS. Shana Hiatt is H-O-T Shocked

I agree with you Geno...

I get tired of the "Americanized" entertainment and media presentation style as well. *OK the step up onto the pedestal*
Don't get me wrong...I love my country, and there is no other place I'd rather live. I just dislike the over the top in your face, self important, we're better than everyone else attitude which feeds the stereotypical image of the "Ugly American" Very Mad . Unfortunately many fellow citizens fit that image to a T, and proliferate the stereotype further. It drips into our media/entertainment industry as well. Clearly not all of us fall into that sterotype (thank God). I personally prefer a much more global/international flavor to my media/entertainment venues in general. I enjoy exposing my self ( Wink hold the jokes please) to cultural variety in many aspects of my life. Fortunately I’m employed with a large global corporation, and work with (either directly or virtually) a diverse international group of people. I count my self as very lucky for this experience. Now I know this turned into a mini rant stemming from a harmless tongue-in-cheek comment made by Geno about poker commentators, but I tend run with things that strike a nerve. I tend to live the moment and speak my mind, even if a bit off topic. *I step off of the pedestal now* I figure at worse I wasted a few bytes of space and 30 second of the readers life. I can live with that. Wink

Oh yeah...I agree your second comment on Ms. Hiatt as well. Shocked
