Dumb Question

Posted Mon May 15, 2006 7:16 am GMT by chew
I just got a $50 bonus from PartyPoker but have to play 500 raked hands by 25th May.

Here's the dumb question.
Are Sit'nGo's raked?
ie. is the '+$1' in '$5+$1' considered the rake.

The reason I ask is because I don't really play ring games and I don't want to waste playing 500 hands at sit'ngo's only to discover they don't count.

I've emailed PP but they are slow on replying.

Thanks.

No, they're not.

It's only ring games. $50 doesn't leave you much room to breathe, I would suggest playing limit or at worst pot-limit games. As soon as you get more money, maybe you can open a second table... you'll get those hands twice as fast.

I now know why I stopped playing on Party Poker.

I know its not fixed but it just seems to shit on me every time I play on there.

Using my $50 bonus I played a few hrs of $.50/$1 limit.
Was down about $15 after an endless stream of bad cards and bad beats. I hung in there with the hope that I could finish my 500 hands with something to show at the end but it just kept coming. After another $15 or so I thought my bankroll was pretty much useless so I moved to a NL table where I thought at least I could use my Sit n Go skills and just have a bit of fun. (I play SnG's all the time on VC Poker and do very well.)

The NL was no different. Had 2 shocking bad beats in a row which pretty much cleaned me out.

My last hand I got 99, raised it. Flop 9AJ. I just chucked my last $5 in and some dumbass calls with Q5o. He must have thought I was on tilt or something.
Turn T
River K.

I don't think I have ever lost $50 so quickly.

Actually I have never lost $50 in one session before.

This is soooooooooooo NOT a dumb question. I've been really confused about raked hands for some time. To tell you the truth I've probably lost loads of opportunities to make money on bonus......raked......things! but just don't bother.

To be honest, there are plenty of things in my game i consider more important than learning (and chaising) bonus's.

Should i be chasing 'em or just continue as usual?
