This is probably a simple hand, but should I bet here or check hoping to check raise if he bets? In situations like this I like to check raise, but because of his shortstack he'll probably call with a wider range of hands. Which play makes me more money in this situation?

The answer is "It depends". Do you typically make continuation bets? Is villain a pretty solid player that would notice if you are mixing it up?

I would say about 85% of the time, I am betting about $9-11 here and the other 15% I am checking, hoping to raise. The flop isn't entirely scary, but it is one I don't like to give free cards on. If you are almost CERTAIN villain will bet, then wait for a huge check/raise, but I think you are way better off betting here.

Yes I usually make continuation bets, Villain doesn't seem very solid. He only has ~$11 left on the flop.

I guess I didn't bother to look at his stack size. If you have been making continuation bets a lot, I might be inclined to give Villain a chance to bluff at this pot and check/raise. If he does bet at it, it will likely be for all his chips or it will be enough that he isn't folding what he has left.

If you would have said he is a pretty solid player, I would have told you to push him all in. He would have noticed that you re-raised preflop (which usually means AK, AA, KK, QQ, etc.) and then checked the flop, which might actually give more of your hand away than if you bet at it.

Just my $.02

I bet $11 on that flop every time. If he's going to play a short stack, I'm going to punish him for it. If he has something, he'll call, but I'm not giving that chump any free chances to beat my Kings.

If he's real aggressive and maybe a little on steam, I might check to make him put his chips in here, but I agree that checking here is much more suspicious than betting.

Bet...PP is an easy hand to crack. Why risk it without getting reward for it.

Put him all in. At this point he is concerned about your reraise preflop. If I was him, I would assume any check is a trap. I would bet about $7.50 to make it look like a weak continuation bet. If he doesnt fold, I would expect him to push.

Hmmm... I take it back, you are already heads-up so there is no reason to scare him out. If he missed, any kind of bet will make him fold. I would check and hope he caught a queen and bets into you.

I ended up betting the remaining of his stack, $11. He folded.

I'm still not sure which line was best here. There seems to be good reasons for both.

Any flop that has multiple draws on it like this one I think you have to bet. Hopefully he has AQ or something like that and he pays off. The last thing you want to do is to allow him to suckout with a small pocket pair or hearts for free, especially since there isn't much more to win. When the size of the pot is larger than your opponets remaingin stack, win it now unless you have such a big hand that it is entirely unlikely that you will be beaten. I just don;t see a reason to slowplay here.

IF VILLAIN HAS ANY PAIR ANY DRAW HE PUSHES THE FLOP...sorry, but with that said, check the flop, because he will push with lots of things, draws, pairs, or sometimes nothing.

If you put him all-in, you give him a chance to fold. I'm guessing he would push with any big ace here, hoping you will fold. But this is what you want! Make him put his money in while behind...by checking.
