Boy, this is as crappy a situation as you can almost ever be in. The real problem is that his hand range out of the big blind is almost unlimited. The way he played it, he is definitely representing a flush, but he could also have the case king. Depending on the player, a play like this is possible with just an Ace as well.
It's fairly player dependent I think, but since you've only invested a modest $3.50, I would actually lean toward folding this hand. But take my advice with a grain of salt, because my style relies primarily on trapping an opponent when I have a well-concealed monster (like a straight with 64 or something)... I'm probably just as good or bad in marginal situations like this as anyone else, and I try to avoid them whenever possible, especially when the risk/reward ratio is so bad.

The way he played the hand I put him on a flush or something like KxQ or KxJ . He had been playing solid so I didn't expect a move here and I didn't have much invested.
I folded and he said he had AQ.

Well, the hand is too dodgy for a raise. That's a definite.
You were both in blind so it's a crapshoot as to your starting hand criteria.
He flat called you, one would think hold a-q he'd have raised to see what spades you held...
I actually kind of like him for a set of sevens or a king and spade. I really doubt he had A Q, unless maybe it was the queen of spades
