This is in cash games (occasionally tournies aswell).
If your in the small blind and everyone either calls or folds before you, do you automatically call here?
Lets say you have Q 2 and there has been, say 3 limpers but no raise. Do you always call?
The trouble here, in my experience, is that if u call and the flop comes something like...9 Q 3 , you are likely to become involved in a hand that could possibly end up costing you dearly.
Trouble is that everyone likes to see the flop with any hand if its cheap to do so.
The real problem is that by seeing the flop you could end up losing a hell of a lot, even your whole stack....
Anyone got any comments about folding your SB if your holding garbage and no1 has raised? Or is it an automatic call anyway?

A lot will depend on blind structure. In a normal setup where the SB is 1/2 the BB, you can call more liberally than you can if the game is $2/$5 NL and the SB is only 40% of the BB.
I've also played in $5/$10 games where the blind structure was $3/$5, and the pink chip game at the Trop in AC is $5/$7.50! You're getting 5:1 to complete even if everyone folds around! That's about as close to an autocall as you're gonna see, I think.
Against a large field, even though you're getting a big price, I'd still want some semblance of a hand. Something suited, something sorta connecting, a couple of Broadway cards, something like that. Remember, you have to play the remainder of the hand horribly OOP.

I usually play 6 max NL tables and yes, I almost always call when im the SB and a couple limpers in front of me. If I was playing a 10 person table I would think about folding more often tho.

Always completing the SB is a horrible leak in Hold'Em.
That is actually the sort of thing that can seriously decrease your longterm winnings or actually completely remove them.
A quick 'non-thinking' guide to completing the SB would be any suited connector, any suited ace, suited pretty paint cards, connected pretty paint cards and any PP (well, except the raising ones ofc). I'm not saying this is 'the best' way, but it should stear you well out of any difficult situations later on.

Totally agreed with tame_deuces...
Also, remember that you will always be first to act, the worst position to be in.
