A couple of posts used terms with which I am not familiar. The site glossary didn't include them either. Can someone help me out?
"Smooth Call"
"Continuation Bet"
BTW: If anyone here has edit rights on the glossary it would be useful to either put "Return to Top" links throughout it or repeat the alphabetic navigation index a half dozen times throughout.

smooth call: just calling your opponent's raise
continuation bet: You raised pre-flop and missed the flop. You lead out with a bet to gain information/ pick up the pot.

Smooth call is pretty much just calling a RAISE, you wouldn't smooth call the blinds preflop, that would be a limp. Its just become a "cool" way of saying I called his raise.
Continuation bet: Yes to Johny's above, however, it doesn't have to be only when you miss the flop, you can make a continuation bet when you hit the flop as well. The point is you raised preflop and its checked to you on the flop, a standard bet on the flop would be called a continuation bet.

Thanks to all for the definitions.
Now, can anyone tell me what the little shapes, numbers, letters, and pictures on the cards are for?

smooth call = the same as "calling X bets cold".

What if Y bets, or A?

My idea of "smooth call" is more specifically a call where the standard play would be to raise. For instance, you have AA, preflop it's 2 bets to you, maybe for some reason you smooth call rather than cap. Same play with K2 wouldn't be a smooth call, just a fishy one. Flop comes KT9 2-suited, 1 bet to you, standard play might be to raise to protect your pair, but maybe you smooth call wanting to see the turn cheap or get a couple big bets out of a possible TPTK. Etc.

They're just there to distract you. Just pay attention to the colors and you'll be fine.

I'm pretty sure the answer is yes. Well, I hope so anyway.
