Pokerblogs POST THEM HERE? |
|
Posted Thu Jun 01, 2006 8:43 pm GMT by crack
So I realised that my pokerblogs are running low now. Jakes is effectively dead and Supa is away for a few weeks, so I thought we should have a thread dedicated to pokerblogs.
I can't be bothered reading the ones about the pro's and whatnot, so I am asking anyone here who has a blog or may be starting one to post the links here. You will be guarenteed at least one reader.
I always wanted to start one, but have different poker related stuff I have to commit my time to now, so I will get by on just reading yours.
Anyway, post away!
Did you know that participating in a poker forum can help you improve your own game? Be it by sharing experiences or simply asking for help, participation in a forum helps you focus and keep 'on topic' which will help you improve your game. You can learn from other players feedback and from their experiences. Why the THP poker forums? We offer one of the best managed texas holdem poker forums available, and the community within is far more friendly than those typicaly found on other sites. We've made a 'lurkers edition' of the poker forum available here on Holdem Poker Online, but we encourage all visitors to register and join in on the conversations on TexasHoldem-Poker.com

OK. Who's the spy?
You'll likely understand why I ask next week...
Since the topics been brought up, I see no harm in speaking of it. THP will be hosting free players blogs shortly. One of the things I have been working on is integrating a blogging engine with the phpbb forum engine. Bottom line, if you have an account here on thp, you have a blog (if you opt to use it).
Pretty standard blogs: create your own catagories, post away. Comments features, trackbacks, blog searching, etc etc etc..
I've been curious as to how many members will use them. Time will tell. Just shocked me to see this thread. We'll formerly introduce the feature when we release it. Again, that should be fairly soon.

like craig said ... I do have one.
I wonder if i'll switch over to thp... depends, really, on how short the url is or something. or ease of use....
If you want to improve your game and hear useless tidbits about my life,

I think I have...a dozen or so blogs, but no poker blog yet...only a blog for the development of EmeraldAce, but I don't want to link to it and spam you
Like vyni I have intergrated a blog system for members, bu I think it was a bit easier for me since its a module of our forum software
Ma I ask vyni what blog system you have intergrated? I a always interested in learning about intergrations as my clients tend to ask for all kind of strange additions to their websites...always AFTER you finished their website of course

I might make one if this site starts hosting them (it'll be more about me learning then anyone else gettinga nythign from it ).

I would use the THP one.

I've already spent too much time on it.

theres a phpbb blog mod floating out there, but it's junk.
i've used the b2evolution scripts in this one: their work is a sloppy mess, but they're easy to clean up. integrating it was actually alot easier than i expected it to be.
as for supas question: 2 different paths are being considered. domain/username redirection, or the use of wildcard dns for http://username.domain
i say domain, as they'll initialy be available on a seperate domain that we've registered for the project (im actually posting from that domain now: it'll become more or less a portal to the community end of thp). we'll then likely later have them available here directly on the texasholdem-poker.com domain as well.

b2evolution is not a bad system (if you clean it up as you say) and the setup you are considering sounds interesting. Are you planning on customizing the layout to match the website or will it stay "default"?
Looking forward to hear more about this next week then

I have my own blog at my own site that I unconsistently update. I'd be down with the blog though. I think it's kind of encouraging to play more .

Go left Squirrel...always left... :D
Jokes aside I think your blog look good and I think you should just keep up the good blogging.

Lol... so do you think I should forget about the jokes part and write more about my own personal expreriences? The thing is I would just love to see someone leave a comment in my blog, and get really discouraged when nobody does
Looks like you are writing all that and will then be the only happy reader..

I liked the humor touch and when time permits I'll drop by and make a few comments. It could be that you still don't have that much people dropping by yet, so I would suggest you try to get the word out there...If you want I can set you up with some linkage from EmeraldAce.com (toplist, links and even a blog redirect). Just toss me a PM if you think it could be useful.
EAC is not open for public just yet, but once it is I hope it can help with a bit of traffic
The main key witha blog is to not give up and keep writing. Eventually people will come and if your content is good, people will comment

Thanks Josh :D
I checked yours but the only entry is dated 5/7. Are you planning on adding more entries? You being a Low limit grinder like myself I would love to follow along your poker adventure.
