Hand Odd Calculations

When the win percentage is displayed on shows like WSOP, WPT, etc, how is that actually calculated?

Does the calculation take into account other cards that have been folded by other hands?

I believe so, at least on the WSOP. There was one time I recall somebody (maybe Sam Farha?) being in a bad position with Q-something versus Ace-something, and as they went around the table, somebody else had a Queen, so the leader's percentage went up as the third player folded the Queen.

Then, the first person caught a Queen to get the leading hand.

Or, I could be imagining this too...

I'll have to pay more attention the next time it's on. ESPN replays it all the time.. heh

Anyone else know?

If someone folds after the flop, I believe their cards are taken into consideration. I'm not sure about folding before the flop however.

you wouldnt think so since the player doesnt know that he a folded player had that card. they are doing calculations that if your memorized all the odds you could come with... i think that would make more sense

It's not the player doing the calculations that are shown on TV. Smile
