Time to slow down?

Somewhat interesting hand I had on Doyles Room earlier.

1/2 limit.

Villain *claims* to be good, but is a pretty average player.

Hero is dealt KQs in the BB.

UTG raises, 2 callers PLUS the SB (villain) calls. I call as well.

Flop 9TJ (rainbow)

Villain checks, I check, UTG bets.

Both preflop callers call, Villain raises, I reraise, UTG and both preflop callers fold, Villain caps and I call.

Heads-up to the turn.

Turn 8 (this puts two clubs on the board)

Villain bets, I raise, villain reraises, I cap. Villain calls.

River brings another T. (no flush possibility)

I'm now terrified that villain has filled up.

Villain bets...

Hero?

The way Villain played this hand, it is like he either has the same hand as you or 78 for the lower straight. If he kept betting and you keep raising, he HAS to know that you have him beat right now. I dont see two pair playing this hand that aggressively. It is possible he has a set, but I think he would have reraised preflop with JJ and maybe 99.

The safe play is to call here, but I might be tempted to raise the river and if Villain 3-bets, just call.

Cant see him being that aggressive on the turn after you play back at him so hard if he is an average player. Even with a set he just has to call. I;d pop it like it's hoooot pop it like it's hooot.

I would raise and cap his 3-bet, then I would tell him he sucks regardless of the outcome (if I won I would type it in caps and chase it with an 'LOL'). It's important to tell him he sucks because he claimed to be good, a lot of players will miss this.

After he 3-bets the turn he almost surely has a straight, if that is the case he cannot have a boat.

At the turn the board indicated a high risk of a straight and villain had already been reraised by you. If he had top pair or two-pair he must have known that he is behind and had surely checked. That villain reraised you on the turn means that he made the straight. Since you made the nut straight you are 99%+ to be ahead.

But there are always maniacs who reraise everything...
