NL Hand for comments

Game is $5/$10 $1000 max. buy-in

I am dealt 7c7s in the SB. Three limpers to me and I complete. BB checks. This is relatively early in the session so I have no specific reads on anyone. I have around $1100 in front. 5-way pot, $48 size.

Flop comes ThTs7h. I decide not to lead here because I certainly don't want to scare any flush draws away and I want to encourage a Ten to bet. It is checked to the second limper who bets $20. Next limper calls. So, I think at least one of them has a Ten here. Normally, I would check along and hope the flush draw gets there, but I decide to raise now and hope that someone with a Ten will over play their hand and come over me (similar to what we discussed with pushing on the turn with the nuts...allow a player the chance to make a big mistake). So, I checkraise to $120 total (roughly pot sized raise). BB and first limper fold, but both other limpers call. At this point I am thinking either both other Tens are active or one is and the NFD is out there too. Good.

Turn is the Jh. OK, not the best card in the deck for a limped pot, but I still think that there is a good chance my hand is good here, so I lead at the pot for $250 (into a $408 pot). First limper pushes all-in for $600 total. Next limper quickly cold calls. So now there is $1858 in the pot ($408 + $250 + $600 x 2) for me to call $350 or a little over 5-1. The first limper doesn't scare me that much...it is the second limper that scares me. Do you guys consider laying this down here? Scroll down to see what I did.

I decided to flat call on the 20% chance my hand was good (to AT and the NF or some other combo.) and then hope for the cheapest showdown. River is a blank and I get my wish as the second limper checks behind me. They both show JTo for the bigger full house and they split. Why the second limper (who still had $900 in front) checked his hand is beyond me. Unless he put me on 98h or JJ (both of which were very unlikely given how I played the hand), he missed a nice value bet with second nuts into the dry side pot.

My main question is could I have gotten away from this once the second limper cold calls $600 on the turn? I strongly considered folding (since I would have gotten to see both hands with 1 all-in player), but decided that the pot odds were too good to pass up. You guys think that was the correct move?

There's no way to get away from this given the pot odds; barring an amazing read that you will lack in 99% of cases.

I think not leading at this flop is a huge mistake.

a) A flush draw is calling 1/2 pot bet whether you make it or someone else makes it
b) Tx type hands will raise (in this case, I can't imagine that both JT's would have smooth called a flop bet)
c) It allows you to build a pot faster by 3-betting or going for a turn check raise (since you're OOP).
d) Gives away less information about the strength of your hand. I'm not quite sure what they will put you on if you lead for 25$ on this flop, but it sure as hell won't be 7's full.
