Please berate me.
1/2 Limit. Villain has a VPIP of 14.04 but it's only over 60 hands.
Hero is in MLP with QQ.
Folds to Hero who raises, folds to SB (villain) who calls, and BB calls as well.
Flop: Q 9 6
Both SB and Villain check, Hero bets, SB raises, BB folds, Hero calls (bad play, right?)
Turn: 8
Villain bets, Hero raises, Villain calls.
River: 7
Villain bets, Hero calls.
Please tell me how horribly I played this.

I see nothing wrong here. I don't mind waiting for the turn to raise, and if he has a T on the river, so be it.

I don't see the big deal either, unlikely the villian folds for one more raise on the flop.
If he caught up, he caught up. J10 seems likely for the beat, but you gotta pay that off.

My line of thinking was that by calling the flop there is a real good chance he leads the turn, where I can raise behind him and get an extra BB out of him.
On the river, I don't think I had any option but to call down.

I don't mind your play here either, especially since you believed you could get villain to bet out the turn if you just called the flop raise.

Pretty much.

I think the river is actually the most interesting street. It's pretty much standard up to that point. My first inclination is that this actually needs to be a raise against an unknown. I don't think the average bear will fold to our raise much, and I'm fairly certain that he does NOT 3bet the river without a better hand than ours, like, ever. I think some two-pair/set type hand, maybe a weirdo line taken with top pair, is reasonably more likely than a straight.
Call me crazy, but I think I may prefer a raise-fold on the river to the call. Discuss.

I'm a weak-tight nit, but I don't think villain leads this river with that many hands and we wind up folding too often. I think average 2-pairs and sets 3-bet the turn instead of waiting to donkbet the river.
hijackNice to see you back, btw. All moved in?/hijack

I saw the thread title and expected this to be a horribly mis-played hand, but i don't really see why you think you butchered it. The way you played it looks fine to me.

I posted this thread immediatley following the hand, and at the time it just seemed like I played it awful. After thinking about it for a while, I'm happy with the way it went down.
