Ok about 30 mins into a $500 freeroll blinds 15/30
Im in the big blind with about $2500 in chips i get dealt Q J
Two players call the blinds until SB ( $1400) raises to $90, I call and so does UTG ($6700)
FLOP 8 J 3
SB raises $200, I call but UTG raises $400 to $600, SB calls instantly. Now i am thinking that UTG is trying to raise us out (He had been stealing lots of pots) but SB may have either the flush, Flush/straight draw or J with better kicker, so i think a bit then fold. The turn brought Q
SB raises all-in and UTG calls. and the river brings 9
Niether of them have the flush or the better kicker to the jack. Did i make the proper move folding after the flop?

It's an easy fold on the flop. There's a bet and raise when the action gets to you, so you're either drawing dead or up against a huge draw.
You have to ask yourself what you have beat that follows the action. Can you think of any?

its a freeroll so theres going to be a lot of donkeys early on. That being said, there are much better flops that you can see to go all in on against weak/loose players. I like the fold simply because you're going to have a lot more/better oppertunities later on than to risk it here with TPGK.

A suited flop is a classic situation. You did right. With such huge raises in front of you there is no point in calling.
The best way to handle maniacs is to call them down with middle pair or higher. And after a while you will see that such players are the most profitable fish you can get

Yep, easy fold on the flop.

the trick on staying insane while playing poker is to forget your cards as soon as you fold
It was a good fold for a real poker game. In a freeroll it was a good fold, though chances are you had the better hand to start with.
