Hi Guys!
I have played a hand today and i am still questioning myself, if I played it correctly or not. I am still very green, started like one month ago, so dont wonder about the potsize etc
I didnt find the hand, so I have to tell you out of my memory
6 people on the Table
Blinds 0.05/0.10
I am small blind with like 20$
First to bet (8.50 stack) raises to 0.50
All fold
I had pocket tens- call
Big blind folds
He played very tight all the time, so i put him on AT, AJ
Flop 2,5,5 os
I check
He checks
Turn 5
I check (I guess my bad play lies here, I should have bet, i guess)
he raises 2$
I call
River A
I check
He is all-in
After the clock was running down I folded...
He told me afterwards, that he didnt have anything...
So did I save some money here, or did I give a present to my opponent? :D
Thanks for your help

I think you made the right play. Most times a 5xBB raise usually means AX, PP or sometimes KQ. I would have to say he lied to you and either had a larger PP or he had AX and hit with the A. He most likely told you he had nothing so that the next time you and he were in a pot, you would be more apt to pay him off when he made a bet like this.
I honestly would have bet this after the flop. Pop in a half pot sized bet and see where he goes from there.

I agree. You would've had a much better idea of where you were standing if you had bet this on the flop and, if he just called, bet the turn as well. When in doubt, bet your overpair. If nothing else, their reaction will give you the information you need.
Welcome to the forum, by the way.

Bet flop, bet turn.
Generally that is a very nice board for your pocket tens, especially since your opponent raised preflop. You have to come out betting. You'd know fairly quickly if he had a pocket pair larger than tens.
As played, I would fold to a push as well.

I tend to agree here. The only hands that should push here are JJ,QQ,KK and AA. I have known some players who would even push here with AK.

Why would you put a very tight player who raised 5xBB on AT or AJ? A very tight player doing this would *normally* have AA-QQ/AK.

Thank You
I hope I will be asking less and less in the future
Thanks for your answers and tips!
I guess I will have to "pay" more to get my information. It happens pretty often to me, that I am confronted with a flop I dont like and then I dont really know where I am...
@skribbles
my opponent slowplayed QQ half an hour before that hand, so I wasnt expecting Highpair

One of the few things I do note about a player is how he plays a missed flop when he is the preflop raiser.
You have to bet that flop. The Blinds and Callers are more likely to have that 3rd 5 than the raiser. I know I will frequently call a raise with AX suited if I'm in the blinds, so he should be more worried about you having that 3rd 5 or two pair.
