Any card rooms in the UP Michigan area? Headed to Escanaba for a week. May have a few hours to kill. Any You-pers out there???
Thanks in advance.

There's some in NE Wisconsin, not exactly sure where, but nearish Green Bay.
The casino I was aware of actually on the UP doesn't look like it has poker: http://www.kewadinmanistique.com/

Just got back from Escanaba, Mi. Turns out there is an Indian Casino about 20 minutes up the road in a town called Harris. Island Resort/Casino is run by the Potawatomi tribe.
Had a chance to stop in on a Thursday afternoon around 5pm and none of the 6 tables were going. They had a list for 3/6 5/10 and $300 max buy in no-limit with 2/4 blinds. I put my name on them all and stopped back an hour later.
Much to my surprise there was a No Limit tourney going on when I got back. It was a 80 + 20 game with the winner taking in about $300 and a seat for a WSOP qualifier to be held in about 6 weeks. So no biggy getting in as I would not have made it back. Winner takes all is a tuff gig!
As players busted out, the 3/6 got going and I took my seat. Played 5-6 handed most of the night. Mostly locals with a few travelers like me added in. I slowly build up a $100 buy in to about $200. Pretty stiff rake to beat at $4 a hand no matter what. That and the blinds hitting every 5 hands, I felt pretty lucky to keep my chips!
Nice little room they have. Closed off from the noise of the casino and no smoking allowed. Add in the free drinks and I had a pretty good time. Game broke up about 11pm and I was out of there. I was told they probably would not have got a weekday game open without the tourney. Pretty much weekend only on the table games.
