A fun one

This doesn't happen a lot, kind of like when the board makes broadway but you can be beat in this hand. Interested in what everyone thinks the "right" play is.

I'll set it up with the following info- Down to heads up in a SNG. Villian is a HUGE fan of the small bet, doesn't like to put his money on the line very often. Even though I had shown I wasn't raising once it got down to heads up he either called, folded or miniraised every hand. He got me to call down a few dumb hands doing this.

The hand is as follows:

Hand #32690042-118 at SnG-0007c (No Limit Hold'em Sit and Go)
Powered by UltimateBet
Started at 17/Jun/06 18:49:28

SandyBlonde is at seat 1 with 6745.
Jauron is at seat 4 with 2255.
The button is at seat 4.

Jauron posts the small blind of 50.
SandyBlonde posts the big blind of 100.

SandyBlonde: -- --
Jauron: 7c Jh

Pre-flop:

Jauron calls. SandyBlonde checks.

Flop (board: 6c 6h 6s):

SandyBlonde bets 100. Jauron calls.

Turn (board: 6c 6h 6s 8h):

SandyBlonde bets 100. Jauron calls.

River (board: 6c 6h 6s 8h 8c):

SandyBlonde bets 100.

First things first, there was no reason to call the flop or turn except I planned to make a move on him, then chickened out.

The way I see it I have several options here:

A)Fold
B)Call as the board is the likely winner
C)Make a sneaky bet that looks like the 6 or 8
D)Make a strong move at the pot

Thoughts?

I think I'd just call. There's little risk IMO in making a play and you could use the chips but is he really going to fold to any amount you bet, even all in? With the downside being you're probably going to need to get some folds out of him and trying to blow him off an obvious split pot with J7 might give him the idea he needs to be calling or raising more.

Wow... so you don't raise more often heads-up? If so, how does that work for you? The majority of theory I've read suggests you need to raise your ass off heads up. But, the problem I've found being that usually pretty soon you run into a hand or he catches on one way or another and then he starts playing back and you have to catch a couple hands and/or get lucky.

When it gets down to heads up I find most players won't change gears often. I want to see right away how they react to the limp a few orbits. If they get ultra aggresive then chances are they won't stop, if they let me limp most of the time they are willing to see flops.

It really varries based on chip stacks, blinds ect, but I prefer to see flops. In this case we started about even and the player was fairly conservative, I limped about 5 orbits from the button regardless of my hands and he let me see flops nearly every time. This told me he was probably only raising with strong hands so I could adjust my game. Then he reverted back to his mini raise pattern he showed earlier.

As for the above question, I decided the board was the likely winner and bet the pot. I wouldn't be suprised if he called, but I expected a fold, as he didn't like to put a lot of money in the pot without an very good hand. He did fold and I had a few extra chips to work with. Thankfully he miniraised a few hands latter when I had pocket 3's, I flopped a set with a flop of AK3 and I took the chip lead.

Very interesting, thanks. Too bad this thread didn't get more play, I thought it was more deserving.
