I have always been playing $5 SnGs.. but since yesterday I had been dabbling in a few $10 ones. (babnkroll was $220 when i started playing some of them) i played 3 of them yesterday.. one 2nd place, one bubble finish and an unlucky fluke that happened early.
the players seem real different so far. wayy tighter... in the 5 ones its not uncommon that 5 people head to a raised pot,.. lots of limping going on and noone gives up their limps. here it often happens that its folded to the small blind. raises get way more respect.. plus, there are some players there.. sometimes i get raised and the player folds to a reraise of mine.. that sort of thing would NEVER happen in a $5 SnG. definitely some better play going on.. this all is on Doyles Room by the way.
today i played another one and finished 1st, and had the chip lead throughout all of the tourney.
even though the players are better, i dont feel like they are THAT much harder to beat...I like the seemingly tighter play going on so far, cause its good for me
should i keep playing these or is it wiser to stay in the $5 zone?

You have the proper bankroll to play the 10's. If you're confident you can beat them then stick with them. If you start to see you're not ready yet, drop back down to the 5's.

I also don't know why the 10's would be tighter than the 5's. From my experience they usually have the same caliber of play.

I haven't noticed much difference between the $5's and $10's at DR, but I don't have that big a sample either.

i built my roll on sngs on vc(or doyles).
started on 0.10c ones a built my way up to the $10's.... i didnt notice 'much; difference between them really.
the move to $20's was diferent though. they dont fill up as quick and the play was seemingly better. although my sample size means oyu shoudl take this comment with a pinch of salt.
if you are comfortable with playing them then carry on. maybe continue to play them... and if your roll drops below $200 go bck to the 5's till its back up again.
the $10 sngs on pacific are considerably easier though i think,.

I think it depends what your priorities are.
I mean at first glance, I would say stick with the $10 sng. After all you seem to be doing ok at them.
However if you're someone who is on a low income and really values $220 why not just stick with the $5 sng's.
I guessing (and it is only a guess), that most people on this site will be looking to build their bankroll and would therefore probably favor the "$10 sng" opinion.
I say if you feel comfortable on the $10 stick with it.

Just played my 5th one... it went pretty good again.
You must check out these 2 consecutive hands that springed me from a still very dangerous 2nd in chips out of 5 players left.. to the chipleader with 3 players left... just wow!
I would have raised this first one preflop but the fairly tight player in front of me called so i decided to just limp in on the button here

alass i came in a disspointing second after getting the money in preflop in the heads up fase when i had a dominating hand, but he sucked out twice in a row (my A-J against his A-5, and my 8's against his 4's) which gave him the chip lead and then i called his all-in bet with A-8 when he had A-J...

1st hand.. personally i would be folding that there if there was a call in front of me. if 1st position folded i would be pushing. i pretty much never call when the blinds are like that.
then the hand just plays itself out. i didnt pay much attention to the rest of it.

Its only 20x buyin. id say he could earn a bit more before moving up. just to be absolutley secure.
