or Bigfan donk moves...you make the call.

I knew I didn't have the best odds to be drawing here. I was getting 3:1 on my money with an inside straight draw and an open end straight draw. My only future problem I could see was if the other player was on a flush draw and had the 4 flush after the flop.
The turn bet of $0.40 gave me better odds to stick around and see if I could hit my draw. When the Jack came on the river and there was no chance for the flush I knew I had this hand.
My biggest mistake I felt was checking the river and hoping this person would take another stab at the pot. This is a flaw in my play and has cost me lots of money overall. Money that I have left on the table trying to set up a trap that doesn't happen.

Rule 101: Don't draw to gutshot straights on the flop when there is two of the same suit.

Huh? You can do it as long as the next card up isn't of the dominate board suit. If it is then you stand a good risk of running into the flush. But if not then you got your hand.

That's why you don't do it. Your 4th out to your straight isn't clean, so you're essentially hoping for the offsuit card to fill in, and then you STILL have to dodge the heart on the river.
You were getting 2:1 on the flop with, at best, 7 outs. That's about 5.7:1. If a heart draw is out there, you're significantly worse at 8.4:1. And that's just for the turn card. You need to call another turn bet if you miss.
You should be folding this on the flop without a second thought.

UrAteUp, calling a pot-sized bet with an inside straight draw is seriously donkey kong.

Donk 101...I am the professor of it I guess. ...I just missed getting ITM in a 999 player $1000 freeroll on Doyles. I finished 28th with top 27 getting paid. It was true donk 101 at it's finest.... . K10 lost to K9 when a 9 hit the turn and another hit the river.....
