Calling a raise of 9xBB preflop with 6's is bad. Everything else was fine.

That 9xBB pre-flop bet should have told you that you were against a monster hand. AK, KK, AA are all possible here. With an A and a K on the board I think I would have laid this hand down.

Its pretty low limit stuff so I didnt go complete ape sh1t when that happened. I actually was laughing for along time about cause that guy who had aces watched peeps landing monsters.

If it's any concellation to you I had about the same thing happen yesterday on a $0.05/$0.10. I was on the BB with A2o. Me and one other in the pot and the board comes out AAx. I push to make villian thing I had AX and he called. He paired his kicker and took about $10.00 from me.
The dirty bastard... ...ahh well...such is poker...

You're probably never right to fold a set without a 4 flush board.

Was he eating oreos by any chance?

I probably would have let it go preflop to the big raise, but as played I would have probably done the same thing.

You should have folded this pre-flop, but once you make the set on the flop it's pretty tough to lay that down.

I don't mind the preflop call at all. Hero and Villain have almost 250bb. He has to call with that kind of implied odds.
I also don't fold the flop.

I probably would have been a little iffy to call there preflop. With that kind of bet I would think that there is a good chance that the other person is sitting with pocket aces or Kings. I can not see calling that personally.
Post Flop I do not think you can fold that away. You caught a bad break at that point.

That's exactly the kind of hand you want your opponent to have when you hit a set. That way there's a good chance you'll get paid off big if you hit.

"IF" you hit it then you are likely to get paid off, but the fact is that you are not likely to hit a set when you have any pocket pair, so in most cases a pocket pair will not improve much and in your case you are likely to be stuck with a low pair.
Now when you are holding a small pair it is better to be facing more people because if you hit your set you are likely to have the best hand and you are taking the money from many rather than a one or 2.
A pair of 6's is not going to hold up enough post flop, so I can not see calling 8x or 9x the BB.

Small pocket pairs are best played with several in the hand. Even though I will take just about any PP into a pot even against a large pre-flop raise. That's just my crazy way of playing though. Sometimes it really pays off but sometimes I just end up folding when I don't catch my set on the flop.
Large pocket pairs you want to raise big pre-flop to isolate the number of players in the pot. This is the only way you can give strength to a high/big pocket pair. Not to say you won't get called and beat but it's the best way to play larger pocket pairs.
