Well June was a nightmare. For those who haven't seen it before I play 0.50/1.00 fixed limit ring. Month started out with a meteroic week where I went up $130. Wow!! But the rest of the month was an unremitting tailspin that ended up with me down $120 from my starting level. Ouch.
I'm tempted to detail the problems, hands, brutal tables, and bad beats but the real point of the post was that I started coming to the table expecting to lose. By the end of the month I felt like a whipped dog coming to the table and wanted to say, "Here's my money. Take it now but just don't hurt me too much."
I took five days off in part by choice and partly because of other demands. I've played three times in July, lost once, won twice for about even total results (down 45 cents). But I still don't have the eagerness to play that I did before June. I want to play but don't feel much like playing, if that makes any sense.
So, for all of you who have been down this road before, any advice would be appreciated. The choices seem to be between climbing back in the saddle or taking a longer break.

yep all the time
this poker depression is common. it is my biggest flaw and costs me big. you call when you know you lost, you don't bet when you know the pot is yours and you make weak stupid folds. just do your best to convince yourself that if you bring your A game every time, in the long run you will make money. take a break. playing live games tends to get me out of the funk...maybe you should give it a whirl. i think the fear of looking like a weak little twirp in front of others provides motivation for good play. it's too easy to sit back at home and take a lashing.
