Why did you only call the second hand? with quads on the table and a A in your hand you got the nuts. Worse case its a split pot. Guy was trying to scare you away off the pot, a raise might make him think you try to scare him away and he might have pushed some more in...

when the quads hit on the turn he checked to me and I bet, he just called (with his 42). I still dont see what he is doing, he can only win if I have a tiny pocket pair and the river is lower than a 6. If a high card comes, he might split, but I must have had something to call the preflop raise.
Trust me, I wouldnt call or check the absolute nuts heads up w/ the rake already capped. I would have raised if he bet out.
