how do you play flush draws |

Im wondering how you non-donks play nut or near nut flush draws, also lower flush draws like if you limped with 78s and the board 4 flushed.
I'm specifically speaking about 4 to the flush on flops, one card to go to make your hand.
From this point do you:
A. check, as you haven't made your hand yet and want to keep the pot small?
B. bet small to bloat the pot a little in case you hit your nuts?
(why would anyone ever want to hit their own nuts)
C. bet 2/3s pot or pot as a semi bluff to take it down there?
D. check/raise?
E. check/call?
F. push?
I know this is a "depends" type question, stack sizes, reads on players, preflop action, pot size, position etc.
Is this too broad of a question to ask without specifics like that? Maybe.
Or does anyone have a semi-standard way to play 4-flushes with the absolute nuts, Axs or almost nuts, K or Qxs.
I might be reaching here because it may be too situational to really pin down any standard but I thought it might be worth a shot.
I tend to bet out my nut-flush draws more often then not, usually as a semi-bluff tactic regardless of position. Am I making a mistake doing that? If someone comes over the top, I often find myself calling with out good odds and this may be a hole in my game. Chasing flushes can be very profitable but can also be very unprofitable, obviously. Obviously playing the odds is the best way to be profitable sooo, I should stick to pot-odds when chasing flushes but sometimes its just too fun to gamble on that one outer to hit the nuts. I spose thats why poker is considered gambling to some people. You have ample opportunities to gamble. Given this sample, I sure can ramble. I have writers cramp, so its time to amble.

I am a bit too tired to answer this question but I will give it a shot anyway.
It basically does depend as you rightly said. The volume of players in the pot is another huge factor, also if the game is tournament or a cash game.
I think the correct way of playing flush draws really does vary on the situation and on your level of thinking.
What I mean is, what do you think your opponent is on, what does he put you on, what does he think you put him on etc.
I will say this however, I do like to bet out more than check calling. I also like to check raise. This is because I don't want them to think I have a flush draw, I want them to think I am protecting against a flush or if there is already 3 flush cards out I have it. Aggression is the key poker tool in my game and I like to be putting the players to the difficult decisions than me having to make them.

I prefer to be the aggressor MOST of the time with a nut flush draw. As a couple of people have already noted, you don't want anyone to put you on a flush draw. If you just check/call, you probably won't get any action when the flush hits.

if u have a draw, it all depends on position, usually in late position i would bet out if no one bets to take it down and incase i dont hit i have out... i would either give up after if called or not. in early, i like to do a check raise and if re-rasied, usually fold or call for 1 card... i dunno, it also has to be about pot odds, if everyone limped in and call then call also and if u hit take it down... its really hard to explain whats the best way because everyone has their own game play. anyways, think about how u played ur draws on the past and how it worked out or didnt. whether you should of checked raise, called, folded or bet out first.
