I logged onto Ultimate bet and discovered i had 78 cents in my account. So i started playing .01/.02 NL. as i have built it up a little bit, playing TAG and limping with suited connectors in good position....my question, as i have now built my stack up to almost 3$, is it possible to build a bankroll doing this?

You can build a br this way. Chris ferguson had a challenge a while ago and built $1 into $20k
for NL I will move up anywhere between 10-20 buyins.

Nice though. How long did it take you to build $20 from the $0.78?
Its well over 200% , which is excellent results.

ok course you can build a BR this way.
The limits are all relative. it may take a bit longer, but it is possible.

Yeah, it is well over 200%...it's actually 2464% profit.

I've built a $10 free deposit at Royal Vegas into $80. It's fluctuated wildly from $10 to $100 back down to $8 and now up to $80 as I've tried to improve my game. I don't play online very much at all, but so far I haven't had to deposit money in over a year. Now if only I actually sat down and put some serious time into it. :D

Ooops, yeah what was I thinking?
See why I don't calculate pot odds so well ....

I for one am thinking that it would be rather hard and unrealistic to actually build a bankroll from 1$.
Obviously Ferguson is a pro and knows what he's doing but starting so low has its hardships. With 1$ how do you properly manage it? If you play .01/.02 NL you're technically playing out of your bankroll and 2 bad sessions and you're done.
If however you can build it up to around $50-$100, then it's a different story.
Regardless, to OP, well done and keep it up.

first of all i started playing at 5 Mountain time friday night, and stopped playing 10 Sunday morning....i quit with 53.57....thats how much is in my UB account right now...That was the longest that i've ever played one session of poker in my life....it was a blast though....I'd buy in for the max at a table (2$)(after getting up on the original .78) and play really tight...make a decent raise with Aces or Kings and after the flop, if it was a safe flop i would push....eventually i had a big enough stack that i could bully everyone....i lost a little bit of what i had...i was up to 65 at one point but played a 10$ NLHE MTT and got busted out w/ Aces. I know its not normal to be able to do this, and im sure that i got extremely lucky, but i have almost revitilized(sp?) my bankroll. I think if i can continue to do this and grind out 1$-5$ SNG's that i can build my bankroll up to where it needs to be. I will keep you all posted on my success.

The last week or two I've been building mine up by playing Omaha/8. I'll play and as soon as I'm up, I log off. :D Last night, I buy in for $10, get up to $13.50 after about 20 minutes and log off. :D
