Should I have made the call?

This was live NL tourney, started with 10 players. We down to the final 3 ($3,000/$6,000 blinds). Payouts are 60%, 30%, %10(money back).

I had made a comeback by pushing a few times and stealing blinds. I was on the button with A Spade Q Spade . I raised it to $20,000.

The small blind went all in for $38,800, and big blind called immediately after the little blind got done counting her chips, for $35,200.

It was $18,800 to me. I only had $26,000 left, if lose I am down to basically one big blind. I feel I can out play either of my two opponents heads up.

I believe I am getting 5-1 on this, but do you let either of these two knock the other one out, or do you try to kill two birds with one stone?

Tough one to decide on really. Your dominated by hands like AA, KK and AK. Your slightly favored against small pp and your ahead of Ax. Without having a read on the pusher and the caller I would say lay it down. If you have a good read on either of these players then go with the gut here.

Mathematically it's pretty much a no brainer to call. Short handed, chances are you may have the best hand.

However, you said you felt comfortable in being able to outplay both villains heads up. So in that case, it may be smart to take a page out of the phil hellmuth book of poker and fold what may be the best hand, saving yourself the gamble and knowing you can outplay either opponent later.

I will start off by saying I am not that great of a tourney player at all.

Am I missing something here?

At the beginning of the hand, he had $46 000 in chips while the blinds were $3 000 / $6 000. With an M of approximately 5, he doesn't have enough chips to lay this down. Is this the correct way of looking at this?

How many chips does the BB have left after they call? If he is allin too, I think I call here. There is a good chance u have at least one of them beat and u might even be a coinflip to both. I cant imagine u have less than 20% equity in the pot and if you fold, you are down to 2.5 blinds being the BB next. You will need to get a better hand in the next 4 to make folding correct (if ur goal is to win the tourny and not just move uo to 2nd place). I don't think that is likely, so I most likely call.

Well, I ended up folding. My thinking at the time was that at least one of them had a pair (most likely the BB who called the SB all-in after my raise).

The two flipped their cards and I had them both beat. I was a little pissed I didn't call. In the end the big blind made a straight and I would have been almost out.

After dealing with the SB who doubled up through me 3 times, each time with me having the better starting hand, I finally knocked her out.

I ended up taking the lead (80,000 of the 120,000 chips), lost the lead when my opponent caught a card on the river, and finished 2nd.

My biggest reason for not calling was because both players were typically tight and when both went all-in, I figured one of them had me dominated.
