playing 1/2$ NL at Sandia in New mexico....i get 6 7 in the big blind.
there are several limpers probably 5 or so...
the flop is 3 4 5
i flop the nut straight and inside straight flush draw...not bad
small blind checks to me, i bet 10$ get 3 callers
pot is now 52$
turn is K scare card since its a club
i bet 10$ once again and get 2 callers this time.
pot is now 82 $
river card is Ace of now i have the nuts!
i bet 10$ again middle position reraises and goes all in for 95$
late pos. folds and i call, he immediatley flips over A K
i look at him and say in as seriously of a face as possible "Sorry Teddy, i flopped the nut straight"
funny moment, the whole table, minus that guy laughed
Did you know that participating in a poker forum can help you improve your own game? Be it by sharing experiences or simply asking for help, participation in a forum helps you focus and keep 'on topic' which will help you improve your game. You can learn from other players feedback and from their experiences. Why the THP poker forums? We offer one of the best managed texas holdem poker forums available, and the community within is far more friendly than those typicaly found on other sites. We've made a 'lurkers edition' of the poker forum available here on Holdem Poker Online, but we encourage all visitors to register and join in on the conversations on TexasHoldem-Poker.com

I had a moment like that a while back at my Casino. My friend was sitting behind me so I decided to play a little bit like a Donk that night. Raise in any position with suited connectors, raise on gutshots, etc. So, UTG i have 78 of diamonds and I show my friend. I whisper back to her, "watch this something amazing is going to flop". I raise it up and the WHOLE table calls. Flop is 965 rainbow. Same as your case I flop the nuts. I got callers all the way down to the end. I announce, "Well I flopped the nuts so ship the Sherbert to Herbert". It was awesome. After that, people stopped respecting my raises. It was one of those nights that no matter what I did I couldn't go wrong. Some of us that are really hardcore poker players all experience those nights occassionally.
