Hey guys, my buddies and I have been playing NL hold 'em for a while, and recently we've been playing quite often. The usual buy in is 10 bucks, but the smallest chips are .25, the middle chips .50, and the big chips are 1.00. The blinds being .25 and .50. Now, I realize that these values are absurd, as a player only gets about 25 chips total to start. I have told them all (usually about 6-10 players a game), that we need to lower the values of the chips. But becuase of the fact that this is the way we've always played, no one wants to switch it. So what would you all consider good values for a $10 buy in and 3 different colored chips?
It seems that whoever wins the first big hand, can role the rest of the way becuase paying the blinds is no big deal, but makes it very difficult for those who are running short on chips.
Thanks for your help.

If your doing a sit and go from what it sounds like with just 10 people, then think about it this way.
The amount the chips are doesnt matter!
you can call them $1000 white, $5000 red, and $10000 blue
When my friends and I play no one calls it dollars its either a bet of 1, 5 or 10 and so on.
another example is when we play we get 20 white (that = 20 total), 10 red (that = 50 total) and then 5 blue (that = 50 total) so our actual chip count is 35 but the total of the chips that we have to play with is 120.
Hope it helps and makes sense.....Im surre others can help too
