A open challenge to all

Posted Thu Jul 20, 2006 8:50 pm GMT by Skribbles
After spending a few minutes with the geeks in the IRC chat room, the geek of all geeks proclaimed he was the greatest player alive for having a couple cashes in MTTs this week.

I offered him a challenge to see if he could back up he words... when he suddenly went silent.

So now I post a challenge to all:

Who is the best MTT player on THP???

*and*

Who has won the most cash? (only money from final table qualifies)

Beginning this moment, the player who amasses the most final table appearances between now and December 1st, shall be known as "Very good at MTTs".

Rules & Regulations:

1) For the MTT to qualify, it must meet the following conditions:
1a) A minimum of 200 entrants
1b) A minimum buy-in of $1 (NO FREEROLLS)

2) Satellites do NOT count

3) A screenshot MUST be posted in this thread or some other valid proof. ie: pokerdb . com for Stars tournys

If anyone would like to add anymore rules or contest the above rules, speak up or stay shut up.

Cheers.

you mean my 5$ tourney doesnt count!!!damn you! damn you! damn you! just kidding, i dont care

What does the buy-in have to do with it? I'm not complaining, just curious. It wouldn't be fair to those who don't have the bankroll for it.

$10 isn't much...

It is when you need at least a $500 bankroll to play them consistantly. Even then, you should have a $1000 bankroll.

That still doesn't answer my question though.

why not look at league standings and WSOP freeroll results?

Wink

Hrms...

I'd say 100-200 people ones count too. Winning a 100+9 nets close to 7 grand even with only 250 odd people.

Can we please reduce the "min buyin" rule? I don't see why smaller buyins wouldn't be included, seeing as most of them have even more entrants than $10+.

This is a great idea, and more people would be involved if we can reduce the money factor.

i say sure.

the winner is the one who makes the most $? or the most wins? final tables?

Much better.

Shall we say that you should post the screen shots in this thread? Smile

Eeew, tournaments.

Participants should have a standing bet too.

Eeew, tournaments.

No freerolls? Freerolls should be included because you have more challenge in a freeroll then you do in a buy-in MTT. Not saying that because I am a cheap bastard who doesn't want to pay to play.. Laughing. I know more then likely I will not participate in this. Just want to put my voice in for the little man and freerolls... Smile

Aren't freerolls the easiest, UAU?

I mean, despite the stupidity, the bottom line is simply that generally speaking, the players play badly and it's usually easy to exploit.

Just my $0.02 from back in the good old freeroll days.

Freerolls don't count.

Good idea, I play the odd MTT. Currently in one now on PS a $3 +.30 buy in. 1553 players registered

Posted Fri Jul 21, 2006 6:21 pm GMT by LeafsFan1122
Me and Johny are in that too. Good luck.

Posted Fri Jul 21, 2006 6:27 pm GMT by misterjokerboy
Cheers, you too. Got just about average chip stack at the moment. This is the 1st MTT I've played on PS

If the winner is the one who make the most money from tournaments why can't freeroll and satellite count?

If I can make more money then you playing freerolls that you can make from a $10 buyin tourney, then I'm on to something don't you think?

Or one of the geek should come with a point system of final place X (buyin + amount won) * players / length of dick .. or something like that

Hell, we can copy PS point system.

I'm playing a big tourney tonight, which I satellite into. 1st is only around $175 and there are already more then 2k people playing. So I think it will be even harder to win then a 200 player $10 MTT with a 1st prize of around $600

Just a though.

ps . PokerStars point system :
Point = 10 X sqrt(n)/sqrt(k) X 1+log(b*0.25)
n : number of players
k : place finished
b : buyin

a little too geeky maybe, but we can work from that!

If you count my 3-way chop as a win, then I have. But in the actually tournament history, it says I got 2nd.

Posted Thu Jul 27, 2006 10:39 am GMT by supafrey
I've won three satellite tourneys in the past week for seats in other event, but have been pretty much destroyed when it comes to MTTs for cash.

If I lose to another three outer on the bubble I'm going to scream.

I have no problem with that counting.

Posted Thu Jul 27, 2006 11:14 am GMT by supafrey
Ofcourse it counts for something.

Posted Thu Jul 27, 2006 12:52 pm GMT by suitedaces84
I don't see why freerolls shouldn't count. If someone can actually make more in freerolls than anyone else does in entry fee tourneys he deserves to win.

What's the Mark Seif bobblehead to US$ exchange rate these days?

Posted Thu Jul 27, 2006 1:21 pm GMT by arras
I got 5th out of 10,000 in the Poker Stars free roll last night. I don't care if counts, I'm still proud Smile

*Test*

pictures coming soon I hope once I update image software...

I forgot to take a picture, but I finiished 3rd in a $50k Crypto $33 tourney for $5.3k and 2nd in a £10k £25 buyin for £1.5k.

The proof being my blog, and the people from IRC that railed me.

I also got a final table, but finishe 10th in one a few weeks before that, but I won't count that because I have no proof.

I also have these...

Thank you for participating in the tournament "£10K MONDAY 3166125", on Aug 8 2006 1:45AM GMT.
Congratulations! You placed 2nd and won 1560.00 GBP!

Good luck at the tables,

Thank you for participating in the tournament "$50K ADD MPP SPECIAL 2744901", on Aug 6 2006 9:38PM GMT.
Congratulations! You placed 3rd and won 5304.16 USD!

Good luck at the tables,

Posted Sat Aug 12, 2006 11:16 am GMT by MrDarling
Craig, with these winning do you really care about this stupid challenge ?

Those challenges are only good for us low lifes who play for sub $10 tourney and win top $300. once your winning is above 2.5K you should be disqualified from this challenge .
just kidding..
