I guess I'm re-raising here. You likely have the best hand unless you got unlucky against AT or set, and I don't want to give anybody any free cards to pair their higher kicker.

I fold preflop.
I reraise to $12 total. If GunSystem calls or comes back over the top then you're probably in trouble.

This is why I hate playing Ax hands. I shy away from these except with position. In your defense you did have position. So I could see playing it. Now you have to stop and think, what hands might make a 2xBB bet pre-flop. If I have no read on this player I always assume them to be playing AX hands. Perhaps he has A10 or perhaps it is 1010 both of which might be more likely to be played with a small raise. Like Johny said make this next bet a good sized one. If he comes over the top then you have a tough choice to make and might be wise to lay this hand down.

You made a pot-sized bet and have been raised and the raise has been called. So you are against two opponents who have at least an ace. I wouldn't overestimate a two-pair. Especially if the second pair is only a douce. Without a proper read I would fold and wait for a better opportunity.

The short stack called the raise, I'm not really too concerned about him, if he has you beat so be it. The reraise could easily be coming from a number of hands. AK is a likely holding. I reraise since you're likely not to improve, and you dont wanna give your opponent a free card to beat you.
Btw, calling a raise from MP with A2 is not good imo. You almost need 2 pair to continue with the hand, and as we can see, even when you hit your 2 pair its still a tough decision.
Edit: I just reread the hand. He raised initially. Then check raised you. 9 times out of 10 that means a huge monster. I prolly lay it down.

Well thank god for donkeys.
I still don't like the call with A2 though.
I guess the new rule of thumb should be, if you have 2 pair on a small stakes table, go all the way with it.

Nice finish King...but I would consider folding A2 in the future...it's not always going to become a winner...
As for calling this a donkey play Jeff...I really think thats a little harsh. He had two pair. He wasn't raised or pushed to all in. I think it would be wise to make a call here. The only hands beating you at this time are 1010 or A10. When the other 2 hits the only hand you have to worry about someone having is 22 for quads.
Nice read (and alot of luck) by King I think...but like I said...A2 is rarely a winning hand.

I'm fairly certain he was calling the villain the donkey. Regardless, I'm rarely calling A2os after a raise unless the player I'm facing is pretty really loose. But if I do call, and I hit my 2-pair with a/10/2 on the board, I'm calling anything. I sure as hell wouldn't put the guy on an a/3, probably an a/k or a/q, but it's happened to me enough to know that a lot of donks will try to pair up their little kicker after the flop and miss.
