Yeah, I'm pretty bored right now. In a 10$ MTT, and nothing is going down in IRC so I decided to share a cuple stories about a player from my home game.
Story #1.
So we get a good turnout for our weekly home game this week. We're playing NL Holdem and before we start, we're introduced to a new player who came with a friend. So we talk, get to know him, he seems nice. He calls himself by his last name: Schacter.
We start playing and I happen to be at his table. (We're playing a multitable 5$ or 10$ rebuys tournament.) Early on, I pick up T T and opt to raise 4xBB from UTG. Everyone folds until it gets to him in MP. He calls, and the rest of the table folds.
Flop comes T 4 9 so needless to say, I'm happy and when the action comes to me, I bet out 1/2 the pot. (Don't exactly remember my logic, as this would be a nice time to slowplay). He raises me and I go allin for a significant amount more. He calls! We show our cards, I show my set of 10's and he... he flips over 75 . So the table is laughing and mocking his play, while he just looks confused to see that I was winning. He ends up hitting running diamonds without pairing the board so I'm knocked out.
Story #2.
This one involves the same guy. We're deep in a 10$ freezeout, down to a single table, and this Schacter fellow is on the button as a severe short stack with maybe 8 BBs left. UTG, a very tight player raises 4xBB. It folds around to Schacter where he sits there pondering for a moment. A joke comes from the raiser: "What's the matter, is your 23 not suited?" The table laughs and he ends up calling the raise. Flop comes 25J, and the raiser puts the button all in. Cards are exposed and the raiser had AA, while Schacter shows 23 ! He then proceeds to say "you're wrong, they were suited! River brings a 2 so he won the hand.
This guy still comes to our games. He's obviously an overall loser, not making the money much, but he's still a nice guy and obviously we can't complain about his bad play.
He's earned a name for himself, "The Schacter Factor" and we always look for him to have stupid hands in stupid situations.
Just shared because I had nothing better to do.
