My friends and I have been playing poker for a little while now. One of the main games we play always has wild cards in it. With wilds in the equation, 5-of-a-kind becomes a possible hand. I say that the 5-of-a-kind is the best hand and beats even the Royal Flush. My argument is:
1.) Although the RF is a very powerul hand, it is still an Ace-high straight flush. And 5-of-a-kind beats straight flush.
2.) With wilds in the equation, RFs are much easier to get.
3.) And the best 5-of-a-kind (five aces) is much harder to get than the best straight flush, the RF.
Anyway, I want to know what you guys think because I know you guys have been playing for a long time.

5 of a kind beats ANYTHING other than a higher 5 of a kind. A RF is no good against it

Hmm,
I never play in games with wilds, but if I did I think I'd make a distinction between a royal flush with wilds and a royal with no wilds, the one with no wilds beating the 5 of a kind and the 5 of a kind beating the royal with a wild or wilds. I believe this is how video poker machines stack the odds as well, but I'm not sure.

Carson and his crazy methods....
Nah, makes sense that cos the odds on a no-wild Royal Flush must be higher than a 5 of a kind even with only 1 wild. Maybe Adam will add it to the *new* odds bit if he writes one

We always play that a RF beats 5 of a kind. I don't know the odds but it seems that when playing with any wilds 5 of a kind shows up more than a RF.
My suggestion is to set ground rules with all your players. We did this the first night and agreed to avoid issues later.
