sorry about repost in general holdem(not sure where this belongs)

http://www.texasholdem-poker.com/bet_analyst

can someone explain to me how you would do this at a live game?
do you bet more than the draw percentage of the pot?

ex. #1
pot = $500
flop is opened with 2 cards left(turn + river)
opponent is on a flush draw = 9 outs = 19.15% on the flop to the turn
20% of $500 = $100

ex. #2
pot = $500
flop is opened with 2 cards left(turn + river)
opponent is on a flush draw = 9 outs = 34.97% for turn + river combined
35& of $500 = $175

i know i should bet more so they will think twice before drawing but which example do i bet? and how come on the bet analyst link above, if you put in $500 in the calculator it will give you different amounts to bet

This is what's called a semi-bluff. You want your opponent to fold, but if he calls you still might win the hand.

If you where to say bet 100 to give you odds to draw to your flush (that is unless your opponent decides to raise) you would be too easy to read. This is because if you flop a good hand, like top pair or better, you will want to bet big so that your opponent will lose money if he calls with a draw. Thus you will be readable by the size of your bet.

Make any sense?
