Okay, dont have a hand example but here's what I'm wondering.
What would you do if:
Say you have 3000 chips, shortstack has 500. Shortstack goes all-in, all fold to guy in front of you with 1500 chips who calls, you're last to act. You're holding AA, do you re-raise to put the 2nd guy all-in, fold and get out of the way or just call?

I say all in. I've made this mistake before and then got out flopped

Yeh, I'm asking because I always hear big PPs being heads up hands. I had something like this the other day on my table, guy re-raised and his AA held up.
I originally liked his play, was just thinking about it and whether it is usually a good move.

Yeh, I know that's the idea. But what my main question was "Is AA still a monster if you're sure you'll be going in a 3-way?"
Like I said, I know it's the king of heads-up but I often hear people say it loses value with more than 1 other in the pot. If this is not the case, and a 3-way is still the right call, at which point does it become unprofitable? (ie. someone in EP goes all-in and there are 5 callers, AA would be pretty weak now correct?)

AA is still going to be about a 60% favorite against two hands multiway
check out twodimes for experimentation on that

this is a must raise situation as the clear chipleader. if shorty wins, but you beat the other guy, you still gain 1000 chips. if medium guy wins he will have a 3-1 chip advantage on you, which is difficult to overcome but not impossibly so
you'd almost rather have the medium stack fold, but a call shouldn't bug you either
edit: looks more like a 65 - 70% favorite

Sounds good, thanks.
Yeh last week I was in a similar situation but as the mid-stack, called 2 All-ins and won so was pretty pleased. I just got thinking and wanted to see if anyone had the math, etc.
Thanks!
