7 heads-up SNG's lost in a row. Just sickening beats laid on me every single time. I'm going to start posting them here as therapy, and tell myself that people really care.
This is the last one I just blew.

I was 1-14 in my last 15 matches, I had dropped $150 in the last three days and then I ended up winning that 10-player SNG (the one where the guy was pushing constantly and took my Ak down with his 10-2). So now I'm only down $100.

Posted Thu Aug 03, 2006 4:23 pm GMT by UrAteUp
Some of these hands were just played bad and others you can call bad beats. For your sake I have to agree with the people who say stop playing heads up and go back to the 6-10 player SNG if that is where your winning more often.
If you want to play heads up then drop down a level if the bad beats are killing you. Maybe try a $5 HU SNG or less even.
Another thing..pushing all in with Ax hands is often a suicide move. Put your money on made hands or the AX hands and you should come out a winner more often.
Those KK plays. Too weak. I know you raised 5xBB but honestly your in the early stages here. You want to garner some attention then you need to not think in XxBB but more in over-all statements. Make it like 200 to go even though blinds are 10/20. Make them think twice before entering the pot with garbage.
If you find your losing HU with big cards and raising them, then limp a few times. Mix your play up. It can't hurt to mix your play.

You don't listen very well.
If you continue to play and continue to post these hands here, what good will it do you? None - it can only make things worse. Take a break for a week, a day, or even an HOUR.
Posted Mon Aug 07, 2006 2:16 pm GMT by UrAteUp
Grab hand histories and look them over. Forget bad beats and dumb luck right now. Make sure there are no holes in your game. I see one myself and that is over playing marginal hands pre-flop and then not playing well post flop. Two big issues with your game and two reasons why a down turn seems so rough to handle. Go back to playing ABC tight is right poker and go over those hand histories to see where you made mistakes in your play.

In his defense, most of his tables were heads up or 6-handed. I don't think his card selection is to blame for this.

A3o is a very reasonable starting hand PF when playing heads up.
You wait for pairs 9 and higher or AK suited when you're playing heads up? =P

Depends if we're talking about hands you go into a pot with or hands you go All-in with? Makes a difference.

Half of these aren't even bad beats. If one hand has a high card and a low card, and the other has 2 cards between, isn't it 50-50 or 60-40?

Yeah but OP's idea is to show us how bad his luck has been and how he can supposedly lose all these hands consequtively. To OP: how about posting the races that you win -- It could do wonders for your tilt.

Where would you suggest I throw 6-3 into the muck in this hand, before the flop or on the flop?????

I lost 14 of 15 matches over a three day period. In every one of those except for one, I was ahead on the final hand of the match. I could go back through those matches and look for winning races, but I would find very few.

Looking at each individually, they aren't bad beats. But if you played 15 matches over a three day period, and lost almost EVERY hand where you had the other player either dominated or at a 60-40 advantage, you'd probably be pissed off too.

Where do you play where you can sit around and wait for top ten hands while playing heads-up SNG's? Really, I'd love to know./quote

Took a break for a few days, came back to play a match tonight and more of the same. 95% to win on the turn and he hits one of his three outs. Just amazing.

Glad somebody said it. He got himself 5 cards, if he catches on the flop is this now not a beat?

Start posting the races you win. You cannot be losing all of these consequtively.

I realize this is pretty much all Heads-Up, but isn't this entirely too much ALL-IN poker? Sure, you seem to be having some bad luck, but you are the one that continually sets yourself up for this. Don't be scared to play some post-flop poker, learn to raise something LESS than All-In, and learn to fold.
Note: There are numerous hands you posted where all-in preflop was warranted, but the majority of these "beats" could be avoided.

when i play online, i tilit more than anyone i know or seen on tv........
cheap sngs are the worst way to go if you dont have good steam control, play can be loose and it's common to encounter bad beats. you'll wind up playing bad and constantly buying in for another since they are so short.
switch to full tourneys and/or cash games.........you cant play as many tourneys a day (thus lose b/c a bad beat) and you wont be all in with coin flip situations in cash games
