Well, this is kind of funny and interesting at the same time.
I was over at my buddy's house earlier watching him play online and I noticed he has this little habit whenever he gets really nervous.
Basically, whenever he goes All-in or if he bluffs for a big amount and doesn't want to be called or makes a call on the river and is unsure he is ahead -- he will turn his speakers down, hit his desktop to hide the windows and walk around for a few seconds.
I asked him WTF he was doing and he said he can't stand to watch and see if someone calls, if his cards hit, etc. He'd rather just come back and either be out or not.
Was wondering if anyone else did anything similar (can't stand watching the cards/calls come out) or any other odd habits related to nerves while playing?

That sounds more psychotic than odd. Anyway, no I don't do anything like that. I actually like to see the cards when someone turns over...that immedite high or low is part of the juice for me.

lol I'm not that bad, however if I've just received a bunch of tough beats and am really frustrated I will sometimes look away to something else until it is over 8)

There's pretty much not a single tournament where I don't get up before the hands come out. Usually I press the all in button, see what I'm up against, and walk to a different room or something.
I dont do it for cash though. "Feeling" anything from a cash game passed for me like.. a looong time ago.

lol yeh, I do it sometimes for tournaments too. Once I'm All-in with the tournament on the line I'd sometimes rather not watch (especially if it's a coin-flip)
My friend though, when he puts out a huge bet (bluff or an All-in) he doesn't even want to be able to hear the chip sound of someone calling him lol. He even does it with AA, he just can't take it for some reason. When he explained all that to me I said "you'd be hilarious to watch at the WSOP" and he says "yeh, if I don't puke all over Johnny Chan first".

Body fluids on the table is cool... Men "The Master" spit all his drink on the table and the dealer once when someone said something funny. Greatest WSOP moment ever

I literally crap my pants every time I bluff.
It's a bad tell.

bankroll management.

That has helped a lot actually, and it took a while for the concept of bankroll management to sink in for me. I still have a hard time controlling my heartrate when I win a pot though. It's weird.

Nothing wrong with getting excited. You'll probably live longer. If you get like - 50 to 100 buyins you really start to feel a lot more chill about your sessions.

Excited is good, but if you cant handle watching it unfold, I don't think you should be involved in the hand. lol
All in, you should be eyes wide open waiting to collect... or perhaps waiting to see for yourself why it is you shouldnt have push in with Ax Or perhaps watching the first hand lesson that there's no such thing as pot commitment. lol

I have been known to be screaming like a little girl at times when I play online poker.
I don't get those rushes when playing live poker though, people frequently look at me and ask me if I'm bored when I play live.

This is something I'm curious about. When I get a big hand , my hart rate increase and I generally very excited . I wonder how and if I will be able to maintain a board look when playing live and getting a monster.

When I win a important pot in an online MTT I get excited.
For example: "No ace or king! No ace or king! Come on, just one time! YES! *Tiger Woods fist pump* That's how you do it! That's how you play poker!"
I miss that feeling.
