They have changed their rake schedule. I see good and bad for low limit players like myself. Before there was never a rake unless the pot reached $5 and then it was .25 rake for every $5 in the pot. In a recent hand where I had a full house the pot ended up being $22 and $1 of rake was taken.

The new way is the following:

$0.02/$0.04-----$0.01 for each $0.20 in Pot $0.04
$0.04/$0.08-----$0.01 for each $0.20 in Pot $0.08
$0.05/$0.10-----$0.01 for each $0.20 in Pot $0.10
$0.10/$0.20-----$0.01 for each $0.20 in Pot $0.20
$.25/$0.50-------$0.05 for each $1.00 in Pot $0.40
$.50/$1.00-------$0.05 for each $1.00 in Pot $0.50
$1.00/$2.00-----$0.25 for each $5.00 in Pot $1.00

The good thing is that if the same situation occured again I would save 50 cents in rake as the max for .50/$1 is now only 50 cents. The bad thin is I play tight tables mostly and many is the time the pot may not reach $5 so there were a lot of rake free pots. That is no more.

This looks very good for the 1/2 guys, right?

it's pretty average really, the standard 5%, but the cap at $1 is nice for the big pots over 10bb's.

Wouldn't this affect those of us who are chasing or maintaining Silverstar and Goldstar each month?

how come, zinn0? You'd just get fractions of fpp.

I don't think so. At least their site says nothing about fractions.

How Do I Earn Frequent Player Points?
Accumulating Frequent Player Points is as easy as playing poker. For each qualifying raked real money poker hand you play on PokerStars, you earn FPPs. Every time you play real money multi-table poker tournaments that has a tournament fee, you earn FPPs. Every time you play a Sit & Go tournament that include a tournament fee, you earn FPPs.

Important Note: FPPs are credited at the end of a hand. So if you leave a table before the hand is completed, you may not receive the FPP(s) for that hand. To ensure that you are properly credited, please "Sit Out" until the start of the next hand, and then leave the table.

1. Earn FPPs for cash game play
One (1) Frequent Player Point (FPP) is awarded for playing a hand in which the rake reaches:

$0.50 for fixed limit poker games with stakes $0.50/$1.00 and lower
$0.75 for fixed limit poker games with stakes $1/$2
$1.00 for
pot limit poker games
no limit poker games
fixed limit poker games with stakes $2/$4 and higher
Note: If the rake reaches $3, then each player dealt into the hand receives a second FPP.

Hrms. So they're giving the people on the lowest stakes (most of whom probably wouldn't notice what the rake is doing...) the worst deal, and the people who make slightly bigger pots a better one?

sounds okay to me.

Starlight I never know whether to talk to you or hug you. I always imagine the saddest voice when I read your posts. lol.

Speaking of FPP's. What do you guys typically do with them? I've kinda been saving up for a while, undecided. I'm trying to decide whether to just get some cool stuff for myself, get a couple of good items and ebay them to get into a proper bankroll, or take a few shots a bigger tourneys than I could normally afford. I've been playing the 400FPP sattelites to try to get into the Sunday Million, but that hasn't put much dent in it yet. I got about 80k. So what would you guys do?

Sorry if that went too off topic.

eBay them??

80k FPPs? I think that's pretty damn good.

Hrms.. for 80k I'd be pressing every ept + sunday mill satellite they have.

For "ebay" potential, apparantly the highest fpp/money making combo are the nanos that they give away, so you could ofcourse go that route.

I'm personally saving up for concierge on any pretty little toy I want. I'm expecting to go suprnova before the year is through so hopefully that helps.
