Where is a good online (free) site. I've tried yahoo, but it is so slow. I want no limit style - maybe even tournament style.

Believe all the major poker rooms run play money games as well. For marketing, they have sites dedicated to the 'free' side of their play. Bodog is heavy on the promotion, as is party.
At the moment, I'ld recommend Poker Stars.
Wherever you play, get out of the lower tables fast. For example, if your initial play balance is 1000, build on it and get into the higher play tables. Get away from the new kids playing the cheap seats with initial balances. You can find competint players in the play world, but they're keeping away from masses and play the bigger butins, etc.
