There are antes, so you probably want to widen the amount of hands you play + stacks are deepish in some cases so seeing a flop is pretty ok.

I'm also guessing we're not seeing alot of uneventful hands where some aggression takes down the pot on the flop.

To players at that level, many times "pre-flop" is just a formality. Wink

But, I will also say that the players who have played "ABC Poker" like Phil Laak and Mimi Tran have done remarkably well in that game.

Deep stack NL at the top level is all about post flop play and out-manuevering your opponents. For the most part, unless the pot is raised and re-raised, the preflop standards for all but a few of the players at the game are extremely wide (as they should be).

I have to say, I have been most impressed with Phil Laak this season. Yes, he has gotten a good run of cards and played tight for the most part. But, he has gotten some WC players to pay off his big hands for pretty big money too. Being known as a tight player, this can be very difficult to do.
