Yeh, interesting hand.
I think what gave it away was John kept firing out bets on the flop, turn, river, etc. and often if you've hit your flush on the flop, or you don't do that. I think Budwig picked up on that and realized John was trying to protect a dead hand. Gutsy raise, gutsy call but I think after the way he played that hand I can see why the guy called.
Not that I'm an expert or would've seen it the same way, but he sure made a good read in order to make that call.

One thing to remember when watching these types of situations is that you can't analyze the plays in a vaccuum. At these levels, the same guys see each other over and over and I would imagine Juanda has an extensive database on this opponent in terms of how he plays certain hands. So, while his push on the river with nothing may seem foolish and donk-like, I am sure that there was solid, theoretical read analysis behind it (i.e., this guy is prone to laying down small flushes to big bets, or when he check/calls on each street but leads the river, he is bluffing x% of the time, stuff like that).
In essence, I look at it as JJ made a good read that the guy didn't have a flush and he tried to push him out of the pot. The guy decided to make a stand this time and was right (although i have to say that it was a dangerous bet and call all-in with two pair since JJ could easily have had 1 random heart in his hand).
Anyway, long run if this guy plays like this, I am pretty confident that JJ will get his $$.
