How do you guys deal with terrible cards and call-machines?
I've had brutal cards today, NO AA/KK/QQ/JJ or AKs, had AKo twice all day.
I try and make some moves to pick up lost chips/money and boom, either someone has hit something or I get call-machines that will suck out. How do you guys deal with the combination of brutal cards and a loose calling table?

find another table?

Oh and have had suited connectors twice. Should move but I hate leaving without breaking even, want to beat the table lol.
LOL, you're my good luck charm! As I'm typing this a guy goes All-in after I raised on button, all fold and I call w/ JJ and win, putting me up to a profit on the table now...one I've been on slowly losing for an hour

Switched tables after the JJ win and have lost like 4 hands to higher kickers, lame lame lame One was a trip 7s, my kick was an 8 and villian had A. Oh well I guess. Been a terrible day for picking up cards/hands.

Yeh, at my girl's house ATM playing before I head to bed. Guess I'm just going to turn into bed in a few, I am just waiting out this last orbit til the blinds and if I don't get anything decent I'll turn in for the night, breaking even on the table.
Sigh, I just folded 98o UTG and flop comes 982 rainbow Just not my day. Yesterday I hit like 4 Full Houses, such a weird swing.

Stayed longer than I wanted, made a bad call due to tiredness THEN, AFTER I lost a big pot I get AKs, AJs and make nothing on them. Very bad day for hands, hopefully tomorrow is better.

Get drunk, then play! I find this is not only a great way to relax, but if you get drunk enough, you stop caring what kind of cards you get and you play anyways!!!
6/2? Perfect, the flop will come 3,4,5 . But only if you're drunk enough!
8/3 suited? This is what I call the "drunken straight flush magnet" or the "big flick". There's no way to avoid getting a straight flush with this monster hand, just watch out for somebody slow-playing their k/2 off-suit for the higher straight flush!
Best part is, after you've blown through 5 buy-ins you're usually so angry that you want to kill somebody, but at least now you're pissed drunk so you'll pass out soon enough! Not only that, but rather than dwelling on your "bad beats" from the previous night (I still can't believe my 9/4 got outdrawn by those queens) you'll be too hungover to care!
Trust me!
(note: do not trust me)

When something like that happens to me I usually change games. in my case stud is the game of choice.
I tried to play Limit holdem instead of NL , but I can't seem to connect to the game.

Pretty simple answer, especially in NL. Keep folding and folding and folding. Don't risk your stack on marginals just because you are bored. And also remember that no player alive gets good cards or wins every session.
When these times come up, just play yur best and minimize the loss. Chips saved spend just as well as chips won at the end of the day.

Play the man, not the cards.

lol, I already addressed that.
Anytime I saw an opening to try and make a bluff/steal, they would either call any bet I put out to do something like a re-raise all-in. I don't just sit there waiting for monsters, but if I hit TPTK, say A10, with a board of say 5710 with 2 to a flush, I bet from MP and get called by everyone, next card is a something like 5 and first to act goes all-in or a huge raise, hard to make that call with flushes, straights, etc. to act behind me.
That's just an example, not even a real hand but an example. That is what was happening. I was waiting on good cards and playing suited connectors, etc. for cheap but either a) I would completely miss the flop, read the people in it and make a move accordingly but either get called down and not improve or get put all-in b) Hit something very small like low pair, high pair on a flush board, etc. and bet big to draw out draws but still get called by half the table.
The problem wasn't that I was doing nothing but wait for monsters and fold if I didn't have the nuts. The problem was that I was getting Awful cards and the table (both tables, was on two) did nothing but call, call, call any bet put out and would often do crazy things like all-in when the board seems it can't've helped anyone. Hands where I'd be so far ahead I'd make the right moves and get outdrawn or simply someone would catch their 3-outer. I had one or two sets luckily, too bad both times there was 2 to a flush and medium-large bets did little to chase anyone out; of course the flush came, board didn't pair and I either had to fold or call and see I'd lost as expected.
I know that's poker, just wondering how you guys deal with that stuff. Do you play a few more hands, play a little less to combat the streak, take a break, etc?
That was the point of my post

If you are bluff/stealing against known calling stations then you aren't playing the right man.
I've recently modified my play. I used to play like you(waiting for the monters). But I started running in to the same probs you are.
I still play that style when I join a table, but after 40-60 minutes when I've started accumulating stats on everyone, I start targeting the players that are passive post flop and start the bluff/stealing game. If the table is full of calling stations that I can't bluff/bully, I change tables and start the process all over again. I want at least 4-5 passive(post flop) players on my table.
ideally. Half the table should be passive so you can bluff/bully. The other half of the table should be agressive so you can nail them when you do have the nuts.
In a nutshell: Table selection.
