Mistake #1: Not raising pre-flop.
Mistake #2: Not betting more on the flop.
Mistake #3: If he was going to call the big check-raise on the flop, he might as well have re-raised. In fact, all-in probably would have been the best move.
Mistake #4: Calling the pot-sized all-in bet on the turn.

I can't believe how badly many people overplay AK still...

He was playing it as a nut flush draw, so he was chasing a hand not trying to steal it.

He should have played it like you said, but I dont' think it was horrible, he just wanted to get the flush cheap, but called the all in hoping to hit the flush and get a big pot.

the one big mistake he made was not raising preflop.

And then ofcourse, calling allin on a draw.

here is a question though (it really is not a judgment)
You play the TPNK really stognly. Does it ever bite you back?

There are many hands there that can beat you in a limped in pot. Any other JX , 68 etc...

I often find my self in situation like that MPTK or even TPNK where I fold to a push like yours.
Do I really need to grow a set ?

Most of the time, I do not play that hand so strongly, but the big factor here was that I read everyone else for having a very weak hand.

1. No one raised pre-flop.
2. The two players just flat called on a 2-suited board.
3. The pot was so big that the only bet that could protect my hand was all-in.
4. The only hands I see calling me are very badly played QJ, KJ, or AJ, which I don't see either player having.

But in general, TPNK is not the type of hand you want to push so strongly with, and certainly not a hand you usually want to call a push with.

If I have AK I will NEVER FOLD IT....EVERS!!one!!

For a hand that gets talked about, second only to maybe Aces, it might be one of the more misunderstood hands out there. While it's easy for us to laugh at him, not too long ago (few years) it was an instant call of any all in with AKs for me. Live and learn.

Not too hard a stretch to also following that post flop.

hehe wats the "N" in TPNK ? does it stand for no meaning bad?
and i agree with your play but i usually wouldnt raise like with so many flat callers but i do see your point on the weakness of their hands
