Pokerstars MTTs/SnGs

Wondering about $1 MTT and $1 SnGs on PokerStars.

Are these full of suckouts, decent competition, or what? I'm not sure if they're worth it, the pay-off is pretty nice for spending $1 but I'm just worried they'd be tough to beat. The MTT has the usual 600-1200 entries but is it garbage play that will just cost me? The SnGs are 45 person, wondering how tough it is to make it to the money.

Thanks

I've played a few of the SnG's, and made the money most times. It's not hard as long as you play tight and smart (and I'm still learning, so if you know what you're doing you should do well)

Truth be told, I suspect there's the same percentage of crap play in any mtt/sng up to $100.
People who play these $1 tourneys take them just as seriously as anyone playing a $20 tourney.
You don't really start seeing a ton of responsible play until the buy-ins reach a minimum of $100 IMO.

If you can't beat bad players, you simply cannot beat good players.

That being said, the 1$ MTTs and SnGs are very beatable. I have a final table in one of the 1$ MTTs and initially built my bankroll through the 1$ SnGs.

Good luck.

I haven't played those before because well 45 people is 5 tables and playing that long for such a small payout really deters me from playing them. I'd suggest the $5 SnGs for a nice BR building place.

5$ SnGs are very easy to crack IMO, (9 handed). Just play super tight while the blinds are low, play hands like PPs and Axs and limp in with them in the early going and try to catch something big and cripple someone. Just wait it out for big hands early, fold any A below ATo while raising with big hands normally.

Also note that while the blinds are 10/20 and 15/30 if your going to raise make it like 4-5x the BB at least, players won't hesitate to call your raise of 40 with crap hands. Once the blinds become 25/50 your standard 3xBB should suffice and start stealing with position and a large range of hands. Putting pressure on weak players will let you easily gain large amounts of chips going into 4-5 handed play while the blinds increase. My usual strategy involves making my stack to around 2500 before the 50/100 level and then tightening up a bit then once it hits 75/150 I start to become very aggressive against the weaker players, and at these levels there are a lot of them to pick on at the table.
