Anyone know if any of the bigger Carnival cruise ships have any form of poker or are the only card games they have is blackjack?
Did you know that participating in a poker forum can help you improve your own game? Be it by sharing experiences or simply asking for help, participation in a forum helps you focus and keep 'on topic' which will help you improve your game. You can learn from other players feedback and from their experiences. Why the THP poker forums? We offer one of the best managed texas holdem poker forums available, and the community within is far more friendly than those typicaly found on other sites. We've made a 'lurkers edition' of the poker forum available here on Holdem Poker Online, but we encourage all visitors to register and join in on the conversations on TexasHoldem-Poker.com

A little text from http://www.cruise-casinos.com/poker.htm
So the question a growing number of poker enthusiasts are asking is: Will I find a Texas hold'em, Omaha or seven-card stud game on my next cruise?
The answer, at present, is highly dependent on which line you are booking. NCL offers Texas Hold 'em on its ships, and Royal Caribbean has started to introduce them on its ships. Celebrity now has at least one Texas Hold 'em table on its ships, but Costa remains among those that currently do not.
There even are cruise lines where some ships offer Texas Hold 'em and some don't. Carnival has been coming on the strongest, with low limit Ocean Players Club Poker Lounges featuring Texas Hold ‘em on almost all of its ships.
The currently are Ocean Players Club Poker lounges on the following ships:
* 20 Carnival ships -- Carnival Pride, Carnival Legend, Carnival Fascination, Carnival Imagination, Carnival Conquest, Carnival Fantasy, Carnival Destiny, Carnival Celebration, Carnival Paradise, Carnival Spirit, Carnival Triumph, Carnival Inspiration, Carnival Miracle, Carnival Elation, Carnival Liberty, Carnival Glory, Carnival Valor, Carnival Holiday, Carnival Ecstasy, and Carnival Sensation.
* 6 Princess ships -- Grand Princess,.Diamond Princess, Sapphire Princess, Coral Princess, Sun Princess, and Island Princess.
* 2 Holland America ships -- Zuiderdam, Statendam
* 2 Cunard ships -- QE2 and QM2.
Your best bet is to contact Carnival and ask of a specific ship and sail date. If there's a casino on board, with the popularity of holdem you would think they certainly would have it available... but at the same time casino really profit off the games of chance against the house, so though it may be available, it might be hard to get a seat!
Ask your travel agent or just call carnival at 1.888.CARNIVAL

i was jsut on a cruise on royal carribean. no poker table. they do have those psuedo-poker games like carribean stud and let-it-ride however.
i think if you talk to the cruise director on any ship he or she would help you find a place an time to get a private game going.
how about organizing a "midnight chocolat buffet texas hold-em freezeout tournament"?
have fun,
jerry
