I know that freerolls dont really mean a whole lot, but I had a question..I seem to have trouble when it gets later on in the tourny. I guess I also have this problem in MTT's as well.If I am able to establish a decent chip stack, I was wondering how do you play certain hands, i guess minimal hands such as K10,KQ,J10. I know it depends on position and so forth, but in tournaments that become all in fests, i know its not worth risking big part of my stack on those hands..Is it worth throwing a raise out there to see where I am, then fold to a raise or a big bet on the flop?
thanks for the help

number of players left and stack size depended , but often I find I lose to much playing those hands late in the game. So yeah, usually it is better to simply let them go.

Are those all off-suit you're talking about?
If I'm in CO or on the button I'll consider KQs or J10s, a raise even depending. But as said, these hands can be dangerous.
If you do raise most hands staying with you will have you beat or dominated (AJ v J10 for example).
If you don't raise, you'll have no idea where you stand and if you flop top pair, is it good?
Most people don't like to limp later in tournaments. I do only when my table allows it and I usually only do it with Axs or 78s, 89s type suited connectors. It's very hard to know when you're ahead with hands like K10, even if the flop comes AK10 - you may already be dead in the water - you basically need to flop the nuts to feel safe with those hands (excluding reads and other things, using only the cards)
So as mentioned, I usually throw these away too. Especially when it's an 'all-in fest', you don't want to be moving in with easily dominated hands.

Usually when you're approaching late MTTs, at some point or another you'll want to change gears and become more agressive. This is a great oppourtunity to be playing some of the marginal hands you've spoke of. Stealing blinds is very important, and usually when you're late in the MTT and around FT, players become scared and tighten up. These are the times where you want to take advantage and build a nice stack before entering the final table. This works especially well if you've been playing TAG like you mentioned for the other parts of the tournament.
As for your question in general though - unless you're trying to change gears or make moves on certain opponents, dump hands like KTo and J9s unless you're on the button or maybe CO. For the most part, you will save money that way.

Define ecent chip stack
is it the average size or are you the table chip leader or in the top 3 stacks at your table.
When youre in the last levels close to the money i will start being a bullying the blinds. If one or two people limped in i will raise in middle position with KT, KJ, QT, AXs, and 99-JJ, but not usually with JT or lower. Many players tighten up here since theyre nearly at the money and you can acumulate a boatload of extra chips. With 88-22, i have no problem limping from early position if there arent alot of preflop raises at the table, also some short stacks may raise you thinking youre weak and with 77-88, you can knock them out. It really comes in to how you like to play, this is how i usually play and it usually works for me. I played in freerolls with 1000+ people on sunday finishing in 27th, monday in 9th and tuesday in 25th.
