I wouldnt say so. He called u preflop with half way decent cards and hit top pair. Yes some people would lay it down but not everyone. I may have cause im pretty tight but if the guy has the cash and doesnt mind taking alittle hit why the hell not.
One example that I did. NL .15/.25
king/queen hearts raise to 1.50
guy 1 reraises to 5
guy 2 goes all in for 22 dollars
Ok its on me. Im thinking one of these guys got aces more then likely but i could crack them with this hand so I call for 21 dollars ( big gamble I know)
guy 1 calls for 23 dollars
Flop - King clubs Queen spades blank
Guy 1 says (I got Rockets)
Guy 2 ( I do also, lol)
I say (well that sucks cause i got 2 pair)
Turn blank
River blank
I take down 60 some dollar pot.

Any hand is capable of beating Rockets, but it was still a suck out...

Both hands are major suckout and simply bad play.
Its ok to call your bet on the flop - though I'd be worry about AK if I was him. Its even ok to raise to see where you stand, but pushing is a very bad move that will cost him a lot in the long run. You had a hugh advantage on the flop (something like 82% to win)
please direct him to m y table any day of the week

It was a suckout in that you had the best hand through the turn but it is hard to criticize the villian's play. He did have reasonable cards. He made a feeler raise and got a couple of calls and your raise wasn't all that large, certainly not large enough to drive those cards out of the pot given the money that was already in it. Depending on his expectations for whether the two other players (who followed AF Guy preflop in betting) would likely call your raise that is a pretty reasonable call for him.
His call of your flop raise hinges on your history at the table. Had you been caught bluffing? Have you been a wacko? What have been the levels of preflop raising previously? Your flop bet implies a pair of kings to me. I think that he was doing two things, gambling on his kicker and trying to isolate the hand down to you and him (note the two spades on the flop).
So, yes, he sucked out but I find it hard to criticize his play. And why did you call his all in raise? Any set had you beat and aces are just a pair.

OP wants to know if he won the agrument after the hand so he can find him in a SnG today and say "all my forum buddies said it was a suckout, so blow me".
By the way....It was a suckout.

You did the right thing, thats all that matters. He got lucky, its supposed to happen once in every 5 times I believe in this situatuon? Don't dwell on these types of hands, just make sure your play was correct and move on there is nothing to gain from thinking about these types of hands.

I really don't understand this, you raise with AA because you want to to have an overpair to the flop, if the flop comes something more dangerous then I can see folding but this is really a fine flop to move into IMO. If your not playing AA for an overpair then why are you playing it at all? If its for set value then you'd raise the same with AA then you would with 22.
