Hello. I would like to start to play poker, but I do not know anything about it, tell to me from what to start to learn?
Did you know that participating in a poker forum can help you improve your own game? Be it by sharing experiences or simply asking for help, participation in a forum helps you focus and keep 'on topic' which will help you improve your game. You can learn from other players feedback and from their experiences. Why the THP poker forums? We offer one of the best managed texas holdem poker forums available, and the community within is far more friendly than those typicaly found on other sites. We've made a 'lurkers edition' of the poker forum available here on Holdem Poker Online, but we encourage all visitors to register and join in on the conversations on TexasHoldem-Poker.com

Hey and welcome to the forums.
1/ Read the pages with links on the left. They talk about a lot of important aspects of the game. That should be a start.
2/ Get some poker books. Sklansky, Harrington, Brunson, w/e.
3/ Play heaps of poker
4/ Participate in these forums.

And basically get ready for a wild ride. You're about to discover that poker is a lot more than what it appears to be on the outside.
Good luck.

QTF...Poker is one of the wildest rides in life. We poker players often ride emotional roller coasters that could make a manic depressant feel sane... . One minute your riding high and winning. The next minute your wondering what happened and why your not winning any more. Then you have the donkey players. Players who play any two cards no matter what. These type of players alone can make your coaster go from a good peak to a downhill run in seconds.
Watch the professional tournaments on TV sometime and see the roller coaster these people ride. Watch last years WSOP and you'll see players blattantly happy as well as some who are emotionally crushed. All within a matter of hours or days from each other.
Learn all you can before you enter into this crazy game. It's not only about your two cards. And whatever you do...don't forget to have fun playing it...or you'll never enjoy the true game.
