Call + raise + re-raise = auto-fold for you

You're facing hands like sets, made straights, flush draw + pair, two pair, pair + straight draw. All those hands are beating you or have 10+ outs. If you call the all-in here, at least one more player will call the all-in and you will be an underdog in 3-way action.

You played the hand as best you could, but its time to let this baby go and wait for a better spot.

Fold.

Very scary situation to be in, but you played it pretty well up until that point. PF you raised a good amount, and your continuation bet was of a good amount as well. But when you get a caller behind you, then a raise and then a re-reraise on a board like that, I'd be folding very quickly.

It seems to be the first hand of a tournament so fold here and recover in a better situation.

Early on in a tourney, so you can easily wait for a better situation to get all your chips in.

Early in a tournament when the blinds are that low, 3 limpers in front, I have QQ, 4 more to act behind me, I would pop it up about 200 - 250 or so.
Make someone have a good hand to call and thin the field somewhat.

Still a scary board but with less people in the hand, you might not have the same raise, call, all-in, all-in situation to deal with.

Read it on here a few times, in early stages of a tourney, its nothing to call 4 or 5xbb. Make it 10x and people have to think a little harder.

I would lay down my QQ with this board given the action as well.

wow, the way some people play amazes me.
Give the action, I think folding is the correct play.

Posted Sat Aug 12, 2006 4:41 pm GMT by Loonbat
I agree - the overpair is an easy fold when facing the reraise on that board (even seeing the hand result).

and this is in a $20 buyin tourney?

Wow, where I play its not as lose even in the $1 buyin S&G ...

Though you did the right move. It sucks to see the result, but at least you got some info on both guys and could easily take money from them later on.

Those people are retarded. You did the right thing.

Wow, I've been frustrated at my $5 SNG level how many people don't care about the buy-in, with all their donkey plays. I'm almost bankrolled to move up to the $10s, and was looking forward to it. Guess it won't be much different.

I used to have the same feeling and then was amazed at how many moronic plays I saw at the $25 and $55 SnG turbos. Then I would check the player's stats on Sharkscope and I reached a conclusion.

Donkeys exist at all levels. Some are just able to bankroll a higher amount. It's always amazing to me to see profits in the negative thousands of dollars when you see a person has played hundreds (if not thousands) of SnGs. It makes me feel better about my measly +18% ROI. Let's not talk about my cash games stats, though Sad
