background : we are all friends that play on Saturday nights and have done so for months...had a situation tonight where someone went "all in" and another player said "i'll call" - then looked at the cards on the table, apparently not realizing what had come out, and backed out of the "all in".
He never threw any chips out to make the call - is verbally saying it enough that he should have followed through? need some feedback - thanks.
Did you know that participating in a poker forum can help you improve your own game? Be it by sharing experiences or simply asking for help, participation in a forum helps you focus and keep 'on topic' which will help you improve your game. You can learn from other players feedback and from their experiences. Why the THP poker forums? We offer one of the best managed texas holdem poker forums available, and the community within is far more friendly than those typicaly found on other sites. We've made a 'lurkers edition' of the poker forum available here on Holdem Poker Online, but we encourage all visitors to register and join in on the conversations on TexasHoldem-Poker.com

Verbal is binding ... if you're in a poker room and say raise, regardless if you have any chips out, you must make at least the minimum raise.

This is very true, but especially if the opponent said call. There's no way in hell the original All In guy should not be all in.
