2004 WSOP- Final Hand

Posted Sun Aug 13, 2006 4:57 pm GMT by aaronw
I was thinking about the final hand of the 2004 WSOP Main Event today. For those of you who saw the hand, how badly did you think that David Williams played the hand? In my mind, I couldn't think of one hand that he can beat when he calls on the end. The only think he can really beat is a bluff and hopefully he can tell by Raymer's attitude and actions in the hand that he is not bluffing. Anyway, any of your thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

PS-
Raymer had 88
Williams had A4 (I believe)

and the board ended up something like 22245 (not in that order of course)

The only time he could have laid it down was the turn. If he called the turn, he had to call on the river.

i always thought that williams guy was a bit reckless sometimes... like he doesnt care if he wins or not. a little self destructive...

No way could Willems lay it down once he made his boat.

since Fossel man Easly could of had any Two Overs and made his bets..

I think that Raymer played the hand very well and set Williams up. I don't remember how much money went in when but my recollection was that the big bucks went in last. I don't think that Williams was unreasonable but I also think that Raymer just really set the stage.
