not thousands but doubled my roll

This is my biggest tourney payout yet so I thought I would say Hooray for me.

I played well out of my bankroll on this one. I normally play 10s or 20 dollar STT but felt like taking a chance. I had just ITM 3'rd on 20$ and felt I was playing pretty well.

Dear Efram,

So far I've taken my $50 deposit to $425.

I'll see if I can find some good hands from this to post for analysis later.

Nice hit, now be careful Smile

My bankroll has yo yoed so many times by doing this it's not even funny. Once in awhile we need some excitement to spice life back up (i.e. risking 20% of our BR on an SnG), but this needs to be a once in awhile event. Now let me think how many times I have taken a 4-figure BR down below the $1 mark ... hmmm ... now I'm depressed.

Congrats, but if that alone doubled your BR, I think the $22 SnG's are a little high for you as well. Just my $0.02.

I don't argue that diamond.
Its just I have a hard time playing poker for an hour +, when my payout is going to be so small.

Its bad bank-roll management, I agree and need to work on it.
Maybe I should stick with cash games until my roll gets up enough to support playing 10 and 20 $ STT.

Need to figure it out, clearly, because as we all know, playing out of one's bankroll will ultimately result in death for the bankroll, or crippled.

This is... by far... my biggest problem. If I could properly manage my bankroll I would never need to deposit. As it is, I am working the freerolls to try and start over again. I always promise to better manage my money.. .. but the penny tables drive me crazy.

With your new earnings, you now should have little trouble slogging it out in those 10 and 20 dollar SnGs for the long run.

Congratulations man.

Well done Efram.

Congrats and well done!

yep, with your new BR you can now easily afford the $10 S&G. You can also play the $20 . but its on the limit, and if you lose a few you need to go down back to $10.

Though wait, if my calculation is correct , a 9 person $10 S&G first prize is $45 . I don't think it is too bad for an hour work.
and in a $20 your talking about $90.

Why don't you pay larger S&G (18, 27, 45) A normal 45 player S&G shouldn't take between an hour and a half to two hours. If you make it 3rd in that your pay is better then 1st in a 9 player game!

I think the 10's are fine $/time. Its anything below that that doesn't seem worth it to me.

The bigger SiTnGO's, 18, 27, 45 seats I most often don't have the time committment. One reason I haven't played any bigger tourneys for quite some time. Well, I have the time but its summer and I have a hard time sitting indoors for 2 or 3 hours when the sun is shining, my bike or roller blades are begging to be used. When Seattle winter hits, I'll be much more inclined to play larger tourneys because it'll be raining outside.

Summer is bad for my poker habit. Wink

I look forward to trying some 180 seat SnG as well as some 18, 27, and 45's.

Hope to play well enough to move my roll up to where I can comfortably play .5/1 ring games.

What should a bankroll be at for those limits. I currently play .10/.25NL
Roll is at $475 now. I think its too early to move up to .25/.50. I think thats a $50 buyin on stars. So, 20x buyin, I need a $1000 roll before I move to that level correct?

time and solid play should get me there.

my new mantra

'DON'T DONK THE ROLL'
'DON'T DONK THE ROLL'
'DON'T DONK THE ROLL'
'DON'T DONK THE ROLL'
