Did you know that participating in a poker forum can help you improve your own game? Be it by sharing experiences or simply asking for help, participation in a forum helps you focus and keep 'on topic' which will help you improve your game. You can learn from other players feedback and from their experiences. Why the THP poker forums? We offer one of the best managed texas holdem poker forums available, and the community within is far more friendly than those typicaly found on other sites. We've made a 'lurkers edition' of the poker forum available here on Holdem Poker Online, but we encourage all visitors to register and join in on the conversations on TexasHoldem-Poker.com

Your poker mind shouldn't change just because the venue is a PC-based environment, instead of a B & M with green felt tables. If it's boring (and not profitable) for you, I wouldn't do it. Somedays I find online MORE exciting because I have the chance to see 50+ hands, per table per hour. In a live environment, this number is closer to 35-40.
You may not be geared for online play and this isn't necessarily a bad thing. if your PC experience requires the adrenalin rush from blowing shit up with a BFG 5000, so be it. And if you tilt more easily online, why is this? Is it because you have no one around to whom you feel the societal obligation to remain civilized?
Ponderables ... only you can answer them.

Yea it can be boring but to solve the boringness i usually listen to music or do chip tricks while i play.
As for the tilt, you should just sit out for a few minutes and read a chapter from a book or something, until you are relaxed.

Maybe, I can't imagine why you would _want_ too though.

never played live poker, but I find online poker fun and exciting...
If it is not fun - don't do it!

I feel like I am good at my day job and I know that isn't fun. So I think the answer to your question is yes you can. That being said, since most of us here consider poker to be a leisure activity (even thought most of us play seriously and are trying to win), I wouldn't do it if you weren't having fun. Seems like there are other things you could do with your time and only play poker when you can play live.

started doing chip tricks and playing music while i play...seems to help me foocus on the game, i also do this while i study
i also quit multi tabling and playing too many sngs in a given time period....the constant rush and donk outs made poker too stressful for me
